Rangers Clothing

This may seem like a very lame topic or one not worthy of its own FanPost, but this subject has created a great dilema in my Rangers support. I have recently been looking for some new Rangers gear, but have been unable to find anything worthy. The only Rangers related items that exist are designed for either a) stadium wear only or b) for men 40 and over (no offense), who don't exactly have a good reputation in the fashion department (i.e. lots of t-shirts tucked in to jean shorts).

I am looking for some Rangers clothing that I can wear outside without seeming like a total dweeb. Not looking for anything totally douchey. I know this may be a result of being a Rangers fan rather than another team, such as the Red Sox or Yankees who have tons of stuff that normal mid-20s guys can wear (vintage t-shirts and hoodies, none of which fit like a trash bag), but any suggestions on where to find decent stuff? I found one awesome sweatshirt at www.nineteen47.com (click on Banner '47 - men's tab at the top of the page and you should see a Rangers hoodie hanging on the wall), but I have been unable to locate it anywhere, not to mention I am sure that stuff from here is probably way expensive.

Thanks for the help.

The Grand Slam Shop

at the ballpark has a lot of “cool” stuff. They have way more than just the normal jerseys and stuff like that.

The worst thing about being a Rangers fan.....hope.

I live out of state

So if its not online its tough for me to get. Do you know if the Grand Slam Shop has a website?

They don't have a web site

But there is a catalog…and you can order by phone

I really want one of their shirts.

I saw this one with “Texas is for swingers” on the front that I thought was pretty funny. Not $35 funny though.

And...

I hate to say it, that Rangers hoodie on that website is a New York Rangers hoodie.

Actually...

I see the TEXAS Rangers one you mention. It is actually really nice. I love that logo design.

by ghostofErikThompson on Mar 31, 2009 5:41 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

The other Rangers one

the one I was referring to has the old school Rangers logo, with the state of Texas, a baseball, and Rangers written in cursive (also says TEXAS in on the front). Its on the left side of the screen where as the NY Rangers one is on the bottom.

Where can you buy that though?

Their website even says they can’t tell you where to get it

Who knows

I emailed the company today to see if they could be of any assistance in locating it but have yet to hear back.

by texasbuckeye on Mar 31, 2009 5:53 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I have it

I bought it at the Grand Slam gift shop last season – I’ve never seen it anywhere else, sorry. It was about 90 bucks IIRC (we had some discounts going for us, or I’d never have bought it). It truly is awesome and very comfortable as well.

the giftshop definitely has a lot of pretty good options, as someone else said you will need to find a way to get a hold of the catalog.

the preceding post was a great success.

It is, except its black

Black sports gear is taboo, except for those few traditionally black-colored teams!

good point

when i was a kid my high school team randomly added black to their uni’s and they sucked the whole time they had it. combine that with when the rangers added the mysterious and for no decent reason black brim (i remember the gambler always choosing that hat when he pitched), or when they added the black shadow to their numbers for no decent reason. i always wanted to shout, “THE RANGERS DONT HAVE ANY BLACK IN ANY LOGO OR ANY DESIGN! SCREW IT! IM CALLING FOR BLACK BRIM”

sorrry, you touched on a pet peeve of mine.

Does anyone sell the Senators

throwbacks? Just a simple grey T w/ either Washington of Senators in script. Or the hat w/ the ‘W’. Love when the Rangers pull those out.

We have the Expos logo, we'll be doing an Angels impression on average once a week, and one half of our color scheme has been associated with losing while the other half has been associated with winning.

The results this winter with the new uniform campaign was really, really, REALLY underwhelming and whoever came up with the idea is probably getting paid a lot of money for doing nothing more than recycling old ideas.

This team needs a fresh look. New colors. New uniforms. Everything.

I am for a silver and rustic brown look… sleeveless unis… a new logo incorporating some kind of Texas Ranger badge-type emblem, with piping down the front and blocky impact script.

It’s Texany, it’s pays homage to the enforcement agency for which the very name was founded, and the impact letters make it bold and strong.

There I did the fucking homework. Somebody please get rich off of my idea. Thank you.

I think myself any future Ranger logo needs to incorporate the flag

Something akin to this.

And if you’re gonna go with a dark color for your uni, you gotta go all the way and go black. Something along the line of these would be nice, only with red piping and white “Rangers” in script. But then again, in the heat of Texas that’s probably not such a great idea.

Become a Detroit Fan

or a Giants fan.

Detroit has the best logo in sports and SF’s cream jersey is teh best in baseball.

Ranger’s logo, colors, jerseys, hats, everything sucks. I’m a fan of an awful team with awful unis and apparel.

There’s always next years’ jersey, and of course team.

What’s wrong with me?

Yes, there’s much tongue in cheek.

does this comment disturb me

I like the t-shirt jerseys...

… that they sell at the storefronts (Pearl & McKinney in Dallas). Last summer or the season before (can’t remember), they would have one particular version on sale on any Tuesday game for $2, so currently I have two Michael Young (one dark blue, one light blue) and one new red Chris Davis version.
