The Ho will get killed in that Ballpark

The Parkies!
What an awesome, bizarre, group of fans he has.
I remember thinking Hawkera was a Parkie at first.

Good Times
This reminds me of the good times back on the ESPN board when the Rangers still had the Ho.
Have to give them credit for their passion though.
chan was decent last year
but that was mostly as a reliever. not sure how he did as a starter.
though i guess he played in a pitcher’s park

completely OT
For a mere 50 cents you can buy mlb bloopers of the week on the xbox 360’s video service, woo!
Come on mlb, charging for weekly highlights?
the preceding post was a great success.
I'd rather....
use the .50 + another 1.50 and buy a Rockband track like “Don’t Stop Believing”….which is a very good theme for the Rangers.
Then I can live out my Rockstar dream without the girls, hardcore drugs, or a real instrument….but I will at least be drunk.

but...
wouldn’t you rather pay .50 for the bloopers than sit through baseball tonight or sportscenter?

His defense will probably be as bad or worse than Pat Burrell's
And his bat still won’t come close to replacing Pat’s. It’s a downgrade.

And now they're interested in Sheffield
who is not as good as the guy they just released.

In other news
the Phillies are also interested in Andruw Jones
Oh Happy Day!
Please, please take Jones. Interesting on the Arias side. I wonder what the Reds would offer for him?

Maybe we can get Masset back,
and put him in that 7th inning role.

You laugh...
But that wouldn’t shock me.
by Adam J. Morris on Mar 31, 2009 9:54 PM CDT up reply actions
I'm serious.
What the hell? Vizquel will fill the role this year, Vallejo and Lemon after that. I’d do it for Masset’s major league ready arm, compared to a prospect.
"I saw your act, just didn't make it for me. Just a lot of fluff."
Actually
I think that we could have Masset for Arias. I know that he has as many plus pitches as there are specks of sand on the world’s beaches, but I’m not sure how much it would help things in the immediate, given how he’s pitched this spring. Though I also wonder what they were thinking trying to convert him back into the rotation after he was solid in the pen for them late last year.

I think I'd rather have Herrera
8 Ks in 7.2 innings this spring, with an 11:3 K:BB ratio. And then we can be done with all this Guardardo nonsense. Unfortunately the team seems pretty dedicated to Guardardo. I would take that 3B, Juan Francisco, in a heartbeat.
I think we ask for Bruce and Votto
And settle for Bruce.
I think we could get both
Keith Law on Greg Golson, "He's similiar to Cameron and Hunter in that all three are black."
Who needs Bruce?
We’ve got the great ’Druw.
"I saw your act, just didn't make it for me. Just a lot of fluff."
Arias doesn't have much value
but Cincy is a good organization to have interested in one of your decent players. They have a lot of interesting young guys.

yeah
maybe we can somehow get ajm’s boy, Drew Stubbs…

I'd be ecstatic to get Stubbs
Of course I though Scotty Pugh, another UT/Cincy OF, was gonna be a star…
"I saw your act, just didn't make it for me. Just a lot of fluff."
Eh
It was SD, not Cincy. IIRC, the Rangers and UT had an exhibition pitting Nolan vs. his son, Reid. And Pugh took Nolan deep in that game. Guy was unbelievable at Abilene Cooper, they mercy ruled us thanks to him hitting a couple of 3 run shots.
If anyone cares, he’s now the head football coach at Granbury.
"I saw your act, just didn't make it for me. Just a lot of fluff."
I want Pedro Viola
or Roenicke or Daryl Thompson. Any of those guys could provide a serious boost for our pen, though Viola might not help a ton right now being another lefty.

I could go for a a couple small trades to get me to opening day
Todays game was a downer.
the preceding post was a great success.
If we trade Jones...
Would Rudy go with him to continue working on his swing?
Is it Spring Training Yet?
He's a pitcher though right?
we should signed him

What could we get for Arias?
It would definitely have to be a pitcher. Don’t know if Arias could get one of these guys. Also don’t know if they are on the 40.
17) Dallas Buck, RHP, Grade C+: Sleeper prospect acquired from Arizona, could surprise now that he’s further away from Tommy John.
18) Robert Manuel, RHP, Grade C+: One of several guys who could slot in nicely as a middle reliever.
19) Carlos Fisher, RHP, Grade C: Considered C+, another potential relief arm with ability.

Arias is destined to be a star
I hope we’d get atleast something decent.. =/ Not sure his value is as high as it will be later this year, imo.
not sure
on the “destined to be a star” but I agree with the latter part. His value should continue to rise. I’d rather hold.

So does this speak well for Park or poorly for Happ?
My understanding is Park had pitched pretty well this spring…
Also, if Philadelphia takes Jones, I would be happy to buy Amaro a beer. Since I don’t think I could very well ship it to Philadelphia, I could buy him a $10 gift card to BevMo.
Its part of an elaborate plane
to make sure that they once again go 29 years between championships
1. Put the Ho in your rotation
2. Rinse and repeat as necessary
Yep
Thats true. I realize the irony there. I just couldnt resist taking a poke at the Ho who I dislike as a player more than any other player the Rangers have ever had
Randy Galloway
Take this for what it’s worth, but Galloway said on the radio today that he went and asked a “high ranking” (aka Nolan Ryan I’d suppose) Rangers official about what actually happened with the catcher/Boston talks. The answer was pretty much what a lot of us suggested all along was the case.
Nolan was approached at the Winter Meetings by a very high ranking Boston official “with an Italian sounding last name” (I assume Lucchino). The Sox were “very” interested in Saltalamacchia. Nolan said great, we’d need Buchholz. Lucchino said that’s a no go, and Nolan told him to let him know if they changed their minds at some point.
You know that more detailed conversations involving actual baseball people happened before and after that, but it’s probably a pretty good synopsis of the situation.
