yeah.

still waiting for confirmation, but yeah, wow. everyone knew it was in the wind… I guess the antiTO crowd at Valley Ranch finally won out. I still think T.O. coulda had a place on this team, but it was never going to be Romo’s team with Owens around, and in the end, that’ why he had to go.

meh

Obviously there are logical reasons to let him go but at the end of the day I’d rather have him on the team than not.

the preceding post was a great success.

This is about right.

And Blogging the Boys reminded me quickly why I don’t post there tonight.

I dont think there is a right answer.

‘(Expletive) Dave Samson,’ then don’t say anything at all.
So I’m not going to say anything at all.

It's a common SBNation tragedy

Good admins with quality stuff and retarded posters with nothing to add except 3rd grade-level analysis.

In fact, LSB is one of the few where almost everybody contributes something to the discussion.

by brettgardner on Mar 5, 2009 1:05 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

it's the admin's job to guide the discussion

(or not guide it)

adam does a good job in shooting down retarded posts or letting other people shoot them down.

Well

Maybe I stated my opinion inartfully.

What I meant was, there simply aren’t a lot of good posters to do that stuff at many other sites. Just look at BTB—long, analytical posts with occasionally great insight. Posts that follow: TO SUX!!! NU UH!!#@ STFU, etc.

Here, Adam has the luxury of allowing posters to sweep the streets because there are so many good ones.

by brettgardner on Mar 5, 2009 1:16 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

well

you make it sound like BTB has nothing to work with. that’s not necessarily true. there are good posters over there but they get dominated by the jackasses.

if someone posted that stuff here, people would ridicule them or maybe adam would engage the poster. I don’t think it’s coincidence that the forum that adam has set up and adam’s willingness to engage posters and let arguments happen has led to informed posters winning out over not. it’s not like there is a shortage of dumbass ranger fans.

Meh.

Well I don’t spend a lot of time over there, so maybe I’m underselling the posters, but I just very rarely see complete dumbass posts here.

it happens

and they get dealt with.

It's the problem with following a team with as much history as the Boys.

Dumbasses jump on the bandwagon when everything is great.

It’s similar when reading Yankees/Red Sox/Lakers/Red Wings forums.

I like going over to LL every now and then, because lets face it: as terrible as the Mariners were last year, it led to some hilarious GDT reads.

Dumbass Ranger fans

is both an oxymoron and true for me. How can I call anyone dumb who loves the Rangers, but then again, how can I not?
