Okay, I know this game doesn't get great reviews, but I rented it for the Wii and wanted to warn anyone who had the same idea.
#1: I turn on the game, choose the Rangers, and realize Young still plays SS and Metcalf plays 3B. No problem, I think, I'll call up Andrus and play him at SS. No can do, Andrus isn't even on the game.
#2: I start a franchise. I check my minor league teams and realize you have only your AAA team. Half the guys on the Oklahoma roster are made up. No Feliz, no Holland, Tommy Hunter is the only real prospect down there.
#3: I check the free agent wire. The game was made before the major signings. Available FA's include Manny, Sheets, Pedro, Lowe, Hoffman, etc. I decide signing Sheets is fair since we did have an agreement with him. I try to make an offer and they tell me I can't offer any more than 7 million. I think, finally something realistic, the Rangers are cheap. Than I look and it says total payroll, 137 million, release a player to make room to sign one. I check my roster and this is the dumbest shit I've ever seen. I have 2 middle relievers on the AAA team both making 40 million a year. These are made up guys making 40 million dollars. I release both of them and signed Sheets, Pedro, Lowe, Manny, and O. Cabrera.
#4: The gameplay is ridiculous. You aim the remote where you want the pitch to go and than you making a throwing motion. The pitch never goes where you want. Hitting, you have to swing the remote like a bat while using the joystick on the nunchuck to pick the part of the zone to swing. The problem is you don't have time to read the pitch and swing in time to hit it. I just started power swinging on every pitch right down the middle and hoping.
I wouldn't recommend even renting this game like I did and especially wouldn't recommend buying it.
