I remember from last year
Washington does not think that way. I think the Rangers would be wise to show their young guys in these TV games, but it’s just not a part of the equation that Washington is able to incorporate.

and it wasn’t horrible baserunning. They had 1st and 2nd with 1 out and a guy hit a liner right at the 2B. He knocked it down to the ground with his glove and turned 2 on the baserunners since they hadn’t moved.

i would think he would sign with just about any team willing to give him a starting spot. and i doubt it would take more than 5-7m at this point.

But if it is a choice between signing with Texas for $5 million and sitting at home, I suspect he sits at home.

Murphy has proven he's a solid 4th OF
Don’t get me wrong, I like Murphy, but players like him are a dime a dozen. Cruz may yet still be a bust, but with the numbers he put up last year and this winter, until his wheels fall off again for good in the majors, Cruz > Murphy just based on potential.

I don't think anyone could argue that
But I think he deserves another one because of what he’s done over the last 12 months or so. And considering the potential reward if he realizes all that potential, he should get playing time priority over Murphy, Boggs and Byrd until he’s proven that he doesn’t deserve it.

Well, first of all, that has nothing to do with my point
Second, it should be noted that Murphy’s line is inflated by his unsustainable line from his 46 games in 2007. His only full season in the majors produced a far less pretty .275/.321/.465 line.
.342/.429/.695 is the line I’m concerned with – that’s Cruz’s AAA line last year, which is so utterly completely bonkers, I think seeing if that can finally translate to the majors is extremely important.
