Alex Rodriguez has undergone hip surgery, which will sideline him for about two months. He'll need more surgery after the season.

A-Rod Contract
Remember how frightening it was to be concerned about that A-Rod contract? That issue sorta went away for the Yankees. After all, they super-extended it until he turns 41 or so, right? I have nothing against A-Rod at all, but, take that Yankee management. Over-paying does not always work.
per ESPN
He is to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his hip to relieve pain. Apparently it won’t fix the problem and it will most likely hinder him all year. He will need another operation after the season to actually fix the problem.
