if he could avoid the walks. he made some pretty significant strides last year, and I think the team thinks of him as a possible back of the rotation/longman type because he can get groundballs. but he’s got to cut down on the walks.

He has looked great. He has been challenging hitters, getting ahead in the count, and controlling his fast ball really well.
I didn't think great, but ok.
I do think some of the low/outside pitches would have been swinging strikes in the minors, and maybe some of the foul tips too.

I'm more worried about Cruz and Murphy, and even Davis still, to some degree
If Andruw hits well enough for Wash to justify playing him everyday, at least one of the above three is going to wind up paying.

Boggs Max Borbon Golson…How many more wins do you think Jones (off+def) gains this club as a part-time RH batter whose defense is not as good as any of the OF on the roster or in the pipe? At the end of the season if you figure what the lineup would have done with Jones and without jones, I say we lose rather than gain runs with Jones in the lineup. And even if you don’t buy that, then I like the idea of our guys figuring out how to become better hitters, evening out their splits. And if you don’t buy that, then I like the idea of Jones not being here when some of these prospects are ready at mid-season so that we can bring them up if we need to. Needless to say I would rather have Catt rotting on the bench with few AB or letting them both go to achieve all of those stated goals.
