OT: Happy Easter

In the midst of the hand-wringing over the 2 losses at Detroit I wanted to pause and wish everyone in the LSB community a happy and blessed Easter.  If you are Christian I hope you take this day to reflect on the great gift we have recieved through Christ's life, death and resurrection.  If you are not then I hope you will enjoy a springtime Sunday and that Kevin Millwood leaves you with positive feelings.  I am not intending to start a religious flame war, I just wanted to give a shout out to the board on what is a very special day for me and, I assume, a few of you as well.  May God's blessings be upon all of you.

Josh Hamilton puts his pants on one leg at a time just like you but once he gets his pants on he hits baseballs 420 feet.

Great post pblack.

As a Christian, I certainly share in your sentiments, and thank you for posting the thoughts and wishes here. It’s a refreshing day to take off from the worries of everyday life and get to really praise God for what this day means to Christians around the world.

It’s my hope and desire that, for those of you who aren’t Christians, you would at least take a moment to reflect on this day’s significance. If nothing else, enjoy the day with your families as pblack said.

happy easter!

Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Thank you very much.

I share the sentiments re: God’s blessings. It’s been a strange couple weeks for me (a friend of mine’s wife died, bunch of buddies lost their job), so I find myself just deferring to the Big Man Upstairs more often.

Have a good one, folks.

Such a special day for Christians

Thanks for the sentiments. I agree with everything you said. Sadly, so many consider the Bible a book of fables – and think the story of Jesus is just that, a good story. They just don’t take spiritual matters seriously.

To those who don’t believe that Jesus really did leave the tomb on the 3rd day and open the doors of heaven to all of us, I offer up Josh Hamilton. Is there any other way to explain his ascent from hell on earth to where he is today other than to acknowledge the work of God in his life?

So glad to have fellow believers on the site. I hope we can present a better alternative to those who can’t express themselves without profanity and venom. May God bless all on this special day.

Great example.

And in my opinion, there may not be a better example to be had than Josh’s for a baseball fan. I completely agree with your point about it directing our attention straight to God, which is where it should be. And you’re right, it’s wonderful to have other fellow believers on the site as well. Very refreshing indeed.
