Happy birthday, Doug Strange
Happy birthday to Doug Strange, who turns 45 today.
Strange was a regular for the Rangers at second base in 1993 and the start of 1994, before being supplanted by Jeff Frye, and then played for the M's in 1995 and 1996. My recollection was that he killed the Rangers while playing for the Mariners, and looking at B-R, it appears I remembered correctly...he posted a 1625 OPS against Texas in 1995, and a 883 OPS against Texas in 1996.

that's in 23 total plate appearances
9 in ’95 and 14 in ’96.
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.

First Ranger to homer at TBiA...
…am I remembering that right?
Rams plagued by fumbles as earthquakes rock Los Angeles. Film at eleven.

I just looked it up
and iirc the ballpark was opened in 94 and Will Clark was the first Ranger to home in the 7th vs. Milwaukee. I cheated and looked it up ha.

I remember Strange's homer
was an opening day pinch hit walk-off. Kevin Kennedy was manager.
