Happy birthday, Kelly Dransfeldt

Happy birthday to Kelly Dransfeldt, aka Kelly Who? (for you old-time NMLR folks), who turns 35 today.

Dransfeldt, at one time, was thought to be the Rangers shortstop or second baseman of the future.  Slick fielder, but other than a half-season in high-A in 1998, he never hit, becoming a AAA lifer.

oh my

Long swing did him in.

Also, I still think Corey Lee would have been a good pitcher if it wasn’t for that one inning in Toronto where the ump screwed him on a strikeout to get out of that inning…

this is what i do...i guarantee.

His peak was

the 65th best prospect in baseball in 1999 according to BA

Back in the days when folks would talk about how we needed Doug Melvin to be GM to grow the farm system, he was exhibit A as one of the best prospects Doug Melvin could point to. I never understood how Doug was going to solve our farm problems.

That's one thing I share

with Kelly Dransfeldt.

Otherwise, he was a much better hitter than I was.

Who was that fan...?

Who championed Kelly for the longest time over on Newberg’s board? She was extremely passionate, and from what I remember, Kelly was her favorite. The name is escaping me.

Beverly

She would like the oddest collection of players. If she liked em, most likely they sucked.

That would have been Beverly, a lawyer from OKC.

I'm sure she's baking a cake for him as we speak

a cake with multi colored icing.

If you take the worst pitching staff in baseball, then add Kris Benson and Jason Jennings, what do you have???

surprise!!! You have the worst pitching staff in baseball, that's what.

LOL

We do remember the same person. Remember how mad she got when I told her that her posts looked like a kid threw up Lucky Charms?

Stop the presses

Teix not hitting in April. Shocking development.

The Yankees should have gotten an April-May discount on Teix

OT: Why has LSB suddenly started crashing Opera?

I mean like 8-10 times today.

I tried IE, but the “C” didn’t work, so now I am using Chrome. One thing I don’t like so far is the auto page fit to width. Any way to turn that feature off?

i don't know what you mean by auto page fit to width

but does narrow/wide feature solve your problem?

I like to oversize the page to 140% or so,

to save my eyes. With Opera, the page width rolls off the screen, which makes reading most sites great because the enlarged text can be centered in my reading view/screen. Opera has a “Fit to Width” selection which forces the page to fit the screen. It seems this is enabled by default with Chrome.

Where do I find the narrow/wide selection?

Thanks, ab03.

Oh right...the LSB setting, gotcha.

I was wondering if it is built into the browser.

Opera has been kind of sucking

in general lately. I use it at work but I’m getting burned out on it.

It has been 100% stable for me.

Until today…I have no idea. I upgraded to the latest rev, tried 10.0 beta, still crashes. Right now, in fact, I have 42 pages open in Opera…but only lsb causes a crash.
