i guess i'm just of the mindset

that you just play guys in different spots int he lineup based on whether they’re hot or in a slump… i dont think you should just keep a guy in the same spot because thats where he fits best, move him and then once he returns to his old self you can rearrange the lineup again, i dont think the lineup should be set in stone…

by DShep on Apr 19, 2009 3:01 PM CDT up reply actions

Well, he does lead the team in OBP (and everything else these days)

But more importantly, he seems like the only guy in the lineup who can be relied upon to put up a leadoff man’s OBP right now. Well, now that I think about it Marlon Byrd was capable of it last year too, but his OBP was also almost 40 points higher than his career average as well.

Coach Washington inspires me to be an hero.

My take on the Derek Holland callup

by LSJ on Apr 19, 2009 3:08 PM CDT up reply actions

Alright, but I don't see why that makes him the only lead-off option.

I think I like him at lead-off, but if I like him better elsewhere, someone else can go to lead-off. There are at least 9 lead-off options.
