That was the schedule before
Sounds to me like Feldman’s going on Saturday, which Benson had been pushed back to.
I think Hamilton can use the day off
Andrus… not sure why he would be out. Maybe it’s so Vizquel doesn’t rust on the bench.
Well right now
Better Vizquel on the bench and stay on the bench
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

He had a 0.0 ERa but let a few inherited runners score so far this year.
Small sample size, though… it was either last year or for his career that he gave up a run (inherited or his own) in 37 percent of appearances.
Yep: according to Newsday
The Rangers have been awarded the waiver claim on O’Day, 26, whom the Mets claimed from the Angels in last December’s Rule 5 draft. A right-handed side-armer, O’Day posted a 0.00 ERA in four games for the Mets, allowing five hits and a walk and striking out two over three innings.
Where O’Day frustrated Mets officials, however — albeit in a tiny sample size — was dealing with inherited runners. He inherited three runners, and they all scored, according the Elias Sports Bureau.

so basically if he is going to pitch
let him start the inning, or come on with nobody on base
The "Fire Wash Watch" is on. I say he's gone by April 26th.
I'm gonna go with 'small sample size'.

holland should have went into the rotation.
I use to love to hit, I use to take it serious. I only got one at bat a year, maybe...but, I took it serious. I hit 1.000 one year, if i had another at bat, I'd hit 2.000...
Yep
soon enough he’ll be there, I’d rather see him get acclimated in middle/long relief for a while, keep his innings under control, watch and learn.

he sure has been acclimated
since joining the team.

for a high pressure situation at Yankee Stadium, I’m sure.

The crowds have been pretty pathetic there so far, fwiw.
Today’s game had shitty weather and the A’s are boring, but there couldn’t have been 20,000 people there.

Ditto
It’s like your #1 pick in basketball only getting mop-up duty. You’re anxious to see how he stacks up in big situations. First year watching Dirk was like that, but Nellie played it right.

True. But we don't know what he's been in terms of bullpens and other throwing.

Well, he went 11 days before his AAA start
Apparently he had a lot of PTO accrued.

Agree whole-heartedly.
I’m tired of the kid being on the club and not pitching. I mean three games plus the 5 he waited for his turn in the rotation at OKC… that’s a LOT of rest. He needs some work.

Does Willie Eyre have options remaining?
What’re the odds Benson starts another game for the Rangers this year? (I say no.)

heh, yep
Wrote that while I was listening to Bakersfield, yep.
Then I had to turn off Bakersfield, but that’s a different story.

Benson getting hurt two starts in

I can tell you this...
Josey Wales does not share an IP with anyone else.

A lot of Baseball-IQ-Envy.
Josey’s percentage of correctness far exceeds that of his critics.
I'm just killing time until I'm reincarnated.
G/F pointed this out to be about O'Day just now: 127
tRA+ in 2008. He also had a 119 last year in really limited time.
If he can do anything close to that, woo hoo.
Yeah
I’m struggling to figure out why he was so available. He’s probably not going to be great over any long period of time, but there are much worse pitchers all over the big leagues.
G G G E-flat_______ F F F D__________....
limited sample size and all that
but his velo was down about 3mph in his 4 outings, 83.8 vs 86.6 (and mph less on his slider)

he was pretty good last year
he’s one of those AAA pitchers that finally gets it and has a few good relief years…
Beane was smart to claim him.

the best part of this game
is that on mlb gameday, on the video tab, they have a video for “Jeter’s clutch RBI double”. I have not noticed many adjectives used on those usually terse descriptions, but obviously Captain Clutch needed one.
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
Huh?
Feldman has an option remaining.

These are all good moves that needed to be made
Get Benson out of the rotation, put Feldman in there, and fill the new hole in the bullpen with O’Day.

Nippert not being close to joining this staff is a good.
There is no bigger waste on earth than pitchers with big arms who cannot throw strikes.

See, this is the problem with your posts.
Constant hyperbole. What about a government program subsidizing helium production? Isn’t that more of a waste?

The government program subsidizing helium production is money and time well spent
in comparison to seeing Dustin Nippert pitch for my favorite baseball team.
"Dying ain't hard. It's living that's hard."
Or the government spending millions and millions of dollars to melt a bunch of FEMA ice
Instead of, you know, just dragging it outside and letting the sun do it for free.
WE WANT HOLLAND!!!
Put the kid in the rotation give him a shot! It wouldn’t hurt anything.
Everyone wants the future so lets kick it off with Holland getting in the rotation.
