I use to love to hit, I use to take it serious. I only got one at bat a year, maybe...but, I took it serious. I hit 1.000 one year, if i had another at bat, I'd hit 2.000...

just gonna guess:
Mariners and Pirates?

Also anybody else seeing this Yankees/Tigers evacuation?

Chris (NJ): I am personally offended at how you ranked a prospect from my favorite team, even though I do not know said prospect, nor have I ever seen him play. i would say the Royals

because of their three horses that are going deep into games.

mariners have gotten good innings from Bedard, Felix, and Washburn. Even Jakublowme has done well. How do our division foes always get their trash to perform at a higher level than our trash.

Also, are we factoring in extra innings? If one team has more extra frames that will skew this. I guess another way to ask this question, is ‘how many teams have more innings pitched from their starters than the rangers?’

Seriously, I sometimes listen to Bill Simmons podcast

not so much for his insight into sports as just the humor, but he made a great point about the difference bt the Yankees and the Red Sox. The Yankees 20th -25th guys just arent very good, some of their bullpen arms just arent that good and neither are some of their bench guys/replacement players. The Red Sox on the other hand, have had quality guys on the bench for them the last few years, and this year, their bullpen is just stacked. Also, they have a ton of depth in the rotation.

it sounded like

they would wait tto put him on the DL because they wanted to see if he could play… Im assuming that means he could possibly play soon, like in the next few days, or otherwise they would have almost have to put him on the DL b/c it back dates til Sunday.

Is the point that they’ve used the bullpen more than we thought or less? It’s like asking “Guess Millwood’s weight?” It’s not something I know but the answer isn’t all that interesting either.

I believe last year

The Rangers bullpen led the majors in innings pitched. So being near the bottom of the list is a HUGE improvement over last year. Means the starters are doing much better and we aren’t as likely to burn the bullpen by August.

What do you all think of a Feliz for Aubrey Huff deal ? Huff would easily better Hamilton’s numbers if he played half his games in the wind tunnel, and everyone sure loved the Josh for Volquez deal. This could get us to the 1000 RS 1000 RA coveted plateau.

I'll humor you

I’ve got to assume this is mostly sarcastic, but having read your mlb trade rumors posts im pretty sure you are somewhat serious, so lets break this down.

1) Huff is a DH. Hamilton is at the very least an above average corner OF, though his limited defensive numbers in CF this year are actually above average.
2) Hamilton is controlled for the entire prime of his career, huff is a 32 year old on year to year deals.
3) Huff has had one good year in his last 5, hamilton is 2 for 2. You really need to read up on park factors, the flaws in home/road splits and such if you really think Hamilton’s road numbers are his true skill level.

Your act was already old and annoying in my limited exposure to it, please don’t bring it here.

the preceding post was a great success.

by DShep on Apr 30, 2009 5:41 AM CDT up reply actions

yea, if we are answering this seriously, and Id

go on to argue that Feliz is much more valueable to the Rangers than Volquez was at the time of the deal. Feliz is only 20, has all his options, probably has more upside, and if you go by BA’s or any other rankings, I think Feliz was ranked higher than Volquez ever was… We dealt Volquez when he was 24, I believe (i could be wrong about this), Feliz is still 20 years old.

But yea, Im sure Jonny Boy would definitely do something like cuz he’s such an idiot and ……… my head hurts.
