baseball-reference.com redesign
As most of you know, baseball-reference.com is an invaluable source of statisical info. The site was already great, but they recently reformatted it and it is now off-the-charts great. It's much more visually appealing and user friendly. Check out the Rangers '08 page. For, the pitchers, they now put the h/9, bb/9, so/9, so/bb, and hr/9 in the main statistical entry - here's Matt Harrison, sponsored by baseballismyboyfriend. And here's Kinsler's page, brought to you by LSB. Kudos to baseball-reference for a great upgrade.

I was under the impression it would have Total Zone and it doesn't seem to.
Would have been nice to have an easy sortable database of some sort of objective fielding measure, even if it was a little questionable and only goes back to 1955. The quick-and-dirty usage opportunity got me excited.
But that’s a minor gripe. This is 99% awesome.

I like fangraphs for
defensive stuff and some of the more advanced metrics, but nothing beats baseball-reference for quick use.

The problem with FanGraphs for defense is that UZR only goes back a few years.
And their site doesn’t have all the nifty sortability of B0R.

I remember seeing TZ
But I think BR reorganized the stat page layout in between beta and release.

I'm now going to keep track of Albert Pujols's pursuit of the All-Time RAA lead at first.
He’s currently 29 1/2 runs behind Keith Hernandez.

By the way, Sean.
You are, quite litterally, my hero.
And have been since I was like 15.

didnt know it was in the works
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

yeah, it's fun
baseballismyboyfriend has Rupe’s page too. ghostofErikThompson has Metcalf’s page with his open letter. Some company in Michigan has already picked up Laird’s page. Andrus doesn’t have a sponsor yet, I guess you can’t buy it until he has some mlb stats.

Anyone who wants it though
Is gonna have to be quick on the trigger, or “The Fantasy Baseball Sherpa” will no doubt steal it.

Apparently this is him:

Scott Swanay, President & Chief Sherpa, graduated from Harvard in 1987 with a degree in Applied Math & Computer Science. He worked as an actuary for the next 17 years, holding a series of positions with increasing levels of responsibility. He completed a series of ten rigorous exams to become a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) in 1998.
In 2004 Scott decided to combine his lifelong passion for sports with his statistical and analytical expertise, leaving his previous field to pursue his dream full-time. He spent the next two years developing the products that led to the creation of Fantasy Baseball Sherpa. He has been very successful in fantasy baseball leagues using these products, and now he looks forward to sharing this information with you. Follow the Sherpa!!!
