MLB.tv is by far the best.

If you want the premium….it’s HD quality, every game is archived. I love it.

by knockoutking on Apr 6, 2009 12:14 PM CDT up reply actions

yeah

but I just realized there are two mlb.tv solutions: standard and premium.

i opted for the premium mainly because of HD and away feeds (and really what’s the difference in another $20)

Ceterum censeo Cat esse delendam - Cahill the Elder

by ab03 on Apr 6, 2009 12:15 PM CDT up reply actions

*away feeds

I meant choice of home and away feeds.

Ceterum censeo Cat esse delendam - Cahill the Elder

by ab03 on Apr 6, 2009 12:15 PM CDT up reply actions

Then you can answer this

Visually, are the feeds different? In terms of cameras? Does the road broadcast team bring in a producer and direct their own video or do they just use whatever the home team does?

I’m sure they can cut in their own replays and stuff, but in the normal course of the game would you see the away feed focusing on the dugout between at bats, but the home feed is maybe focused on the crowd?

by Black Francis on Apr 6, 2009 12:39 PM CDT up reply actions

i just signed up for it today

so I can answer it in a half hour

by ab03 on Apr 6, 2009 12:42 PM CDT up reply actions

The camera angles are generally uniform across the board.

But each stadium has their different spots for cameras. When at an away game, the away broadcast uses the same cameras as the home team.

by Brandon Worley on Apr 6, 2009 12:44 PM CDT up reply actions

But do they use them at the same time?

I figured they used the same cameras…both telecasts might use the same ones most of the time, but does the director or producer of the visiting team’s broadcast get to use the CF camera while Burchett uses the 1st base one?

I don’t know if I worded my question very well.

I know we’re supposed to wait until next season, but when was the last time we had this much optimism heading into a season, if only so we can start to see the key parts that will be building an AL contender for the next four seasons or so.

The Stars, god bless their souls, tried but fell short. The Cowboys……..sigh. The Mavs…who knows?

This town is about to embrace the Rangers more than they ever have before.

Neyer Chat

Rob Neyer had a chat today. Here are a the only questions relating to the Rangers:

Erik (MN): True or False. Chris Davis will hit 40 home runs this year.

Rob Neyer: False, but 35 will do nicely.
Tifany (MA): Is Nelson Cruz legit or will he be average to below average as an OF?

Rob Neyer: He’s legit, just needs to get his PA.
