My favorite

I loved the guy who said that what happened to Cat was “unfair and unjust.” You can disagree with the decision from a baseball perspective but getting paid $6 million to sit around is neither unfair nor unjust.

Lol

poor, poor Frankie. Getting paid $6 million to stay at home. Such a tragedy.

I think the risk of Hamilton

growing tired of playing for a team with no pitching and subsequently ripping up his current contract at year’s end to sign with another team is a very valid concern. Salty, too.

What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.

I'm guessing sarcasm...

Surely he’s not totally unaware of arb rules.

by bking on Apr 7, 2009 5:49 PM CDT up reply actions

This is probably

clark’s response to the idiocy on Baseball Tonight about how Texas needs to develop pitching so that Hamilton and Saltalamacchia and gang don’t leave the Rangers.

by FirebatM3 on Apr 7, 2009 5:54 PM CDT up reply actions

Baseball Tonight said that?

wow, they really know their stuff. This is why I haven’t watched ESPN since the MLB Network has aired, and there is no reason to start now.

Bring on April 6th!

by NothinG on Apr 7, 2009 6:22 PM CDT up reply actions

indeed.

I am not too savvy on the rules, but I do know that Hamilton can’t opt out…yet.

There is really no limit to what Hamilton can do.

Every time I read comments like those in TR's blog

It makes me wonder if they even TEACH spelling anymore.

Trade bate?? Really?

I make some BAD spelling errors sometime.

I make all sorts of typos...

usually switching/dropping/added characters, but that one is clearly just not knowing how to spell the word.

I’m just old – even in a venue like this, I still try and get it right out of courtesy to others.

Now, don’t get me started on what I think happened to courtesy – I’m liable to go “Gran Torino”.

by bking on Apr 7, 2009 6:08 PM CDT reply actions

Thats the key.

Typo vs not knowing how to spell something. It’s pretty stupid to criticize a typo unless its a real article, paper or other things that should be proofread. But if they don’t know how to spell…

the preceding post was a great success.

by DShep on Apr 7, 2009 6:20 PM CDT up reply actions

I think it's probably more that

people are too lazy to proof read – word confusion isn’t exactly an uncommon thing either.

by FirebatM3 on Apr 7, 2009 6:22 PM CDT up reply actions

Well I do type the entirely wrong word sometimes.

But I think generally you can tell when someone simply made a mistake or if they don’t know how to spell the word.

Not that I have real strong feelings on online grammar… just a pet peeve when someone corrects me on a typo.

the preceding post was a great success.

Such a downer to not have baseball on in 30 minutes

although it did let CJ/Frankie pitch yesterday, which was nice.

the preceding post was a great success.

This scheduling is inane

way to tease us with a great first game and then give an off day MLB. Why does MLB do this anyways?

by FirebatM3 on Apr 7, 2009 6:37 PM CDT up reply actions

Weather.

Already a few games postpone because of that.

So

We root for the A’s tonight since the Angles won yesterday, right?

by shroomer on Apr 7, 2009 6:59 PM CDT up reply actions

i'd root for the a's in every angels game

they will lose enough on their own the rest of the season.
but yes, the a’s/mariners can go ahead and lose and give us 1st place.

I wonder when they were in first last…. surely they never were in it last year with the horrible start.

the preceding post was a great success.

by DShep on Apr 7, 2009 7:08 PM CDT up reply actions

come on nick blackburn

suck less. the mariners can not have first place by themselves for even one moment.

the preceding post was a great success.

Man, the new design MLB.com has put up for their sites looks like shit.

Not a bad mailbag again this time. That’s two in a row now without any really inane comments from TR in the answers… wonder if somebody finally told him to get his shit together.

OT: Josh Johnson

Watching him carve up the Nationals, I really love the way this guy goes about his business on the mound. Thinking ahead, Florida probably isn’t going to want to pay arbitration on both him and Nolasco next offseason. He’d be a great guy to target as a SP acquisition next offseason IMO.

Doctor please. Some more of these.

Problem is they have a top prospect at 1B themselves.

I thought we where talking about Gaby Sanchez, actually.

This is what I get for not paying any attention to the Marlins positional prospects.

not to mention

mike stanton. No not the pitcher, he is a tremendous power prospect and profiles much like davis did, i.e. big power lots of K’s.

Just saw the final out on MLBN

Fly ball to centerfield, where Granderson is. He just jogged to the ball and didn’t really seem to care. Once he caught it, he didn’t even attempt to try to throw the ball home to try to get the runner….You have to at least try to get the runner out; you never know what the runner will do (could trip and fall), but Granderson just didn’t care at all it seems

Tigers just look so undisciplined and I’m calling it now. They will have the worst record in the AL this year

Is it April 6 Yet?
