A couple of transactions of note
A couple of transactions of note this afternoon, while I've been out and about...
Travis Metcalf has been claimed on waivers by the Kansas City Royals. Given that the Royals have Alex Gordon pretty well entrenched at third base, I don't know that this is going to do much for Metcalf's career, but the Royals now have a backup option in AAA for Gordon.
And more importantly, Brett Perryman (aka zywica) is going to start blogging at the DMN Rangers blog. Congrats to z on the gig, and congrats to the DMN for picking up a solid addition to their blogging roster.

Congrats, brett!
Though, LOL at some of the comments on the announcements.
One caveat though is that LSB is all homer all the time and that they tend to cherry pick their statistics in typical lawyerly fashion often omitting the truth in the process.
Adam’s probably one of the most objective bloggers I’ve seen. Sure, he has blind spots, but compared to most bloggers (and writers in general), he does a good job of acknowledging his shortcomings and his biases.
And during the Hart regime, he was talked about as one of the Rangers haters.
Sure there ARE posters on here who are homers, but if you’re looking for some of the smartest posters about Rangers baseball, you’d be hard pressed to find more than around these boards….
Anyways, I’d welcome Ginger or Big Tex to show how LSB is all homer, all the time. But frankly, I doubt they’d bother to provide information to back up their opinions.
Especially considering how harsh we can be on our own players or management (cf., FoTF, Eaton trade, pitching coaches, Wash, etc.)

I was coming over here to comment about that as well...
What a joke. Attack lawyers, attack minor leaguers’ importance and attack those who actually keep us informed about them. DMN posters….good luck ZBrett!
Congrats Z
It’s best to avoid the comments at the DMN. Every once and I while I slip-up, and scroll down to the comments. I almost always regret it.
Check the stats, absolutely, but look at the face.

If I blow my brains out, it will be because I’m so tired of them.
Zeeby wouldn’t be a bad alternative, I guess. I don’t know…not good at this either.

So who will be the first INF called up now...
Arias or Duran?
Congrats Z... I think.
The DMN blog seems like blogging purgatory to me, but then again, it’s a more publicly recognized position. I really hope you’ll stick around here as the new gig permits though.
Hello Win Column - no two-tone helmets have been included in our redesign.
It's about time the DMN started getting serious in their coverage of young nubile Latin American boys.
I’ve been scouring their archives and I’ve yet to find a single photo of a shirtless Richard Alvarez.
Maid Perryman will change that, and fast.
Congrats on the big time move, Z.

I love you, Marcus Lemon.

Dammit, zywica.
Now I’m going to have to start reading the DMN blog, after I wrote them off.
