Jenks threw at Kinsler on purpose (surprised?)
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/chi-11-sox-brite-chicagomay11,0,2133168.story
Okay so he admits he was throwing at Kinsler. I actually don't have a problem with this, he threw behind him, didn't hit him and had no intention of putting him on base. I am just curious does he get a suspension? He says he threw at him with intent, should this garner a suspension? or a fine? Or is that reserved for headhunters only?
MLB-suspends-Josh-Beckett-six-games-for-throwing
Doesn't an admission of "throwing a pitch with intent" fall under the rubric of an "aggressive action"? Kind of interesting.
Anyway like I said I am ok with it and I am wondering if any of our relievers would even consider this. I don't remember any of our guys throwing a retal pitch, but I am sure it has happened. (Other than Vinny that is, but he is berserk so who knows why he hits people ::cough:: AJ Pierzynski::cough::) I don't think any of our guys have a real nasty demeanor, I guess maybe FF would be our enforcer if need be.

Ozzies response to Jenks
Guillen said he had nothing to do with Jenks’ revenge pitch, claiming no Sox batter was hit intentionally.
“That’s his problem. I know what I see and what I think,” Guillen said. “I don’t think it was the right moment to do it because we can get in trouble. But if he says he did it, I respect his word and I can’t do anything about it right now.”

That's fine.
I have no problem with it at all.
Jenks actually seemed to defy his douchey persona with his comments, too.
“I’m not going to go dirty. I was going to keep it low and behind him.”
I’m okay with that.
When we hit a bunch of their dudes (even unintentionally) it’s fine if he feels the need to throw a pitch behind our star. He didn’t throw at his head, he just sent a message.
If Padilla didn’t think it was worth putting one in a Sox player’s ribs, then it must not have been worth it, cause you know if Vinny felt it needed to be done, it’d’ve been done.

I was waiting for the serial killer to strike but glad he didn't since he was pitching a great game and probably would have been tossed.

I'm in agreement with this
The Rangers staff had hit a bunch of their guys, no matter whether or not it was intentional, so throwing behind Kinsler is no big deal.

Yeah
I also like how our hitters respond to being thrown at – in the past few years, Kinsler and MY have taken several shots to the ribs in retaliation. Usually it’s because we had hit several of their guys, and they just go take their base. They don’t jaw at the guy or anything like that.
I do remember a couple of years ago when the Angels beaned Young and Kinsler was already on base, the cameras cut to Young and he put two fingers under his nose and clearly said, “Pussy.” Then they showed Kinsler laughing.

What a f*cking piece of shit.
Seriously. What a perfect gif. Couldn’t be more glad that dude is in the NL. How come players and/or media don’t make a bigger deal of this display of idiocy? It’s against everything the game is about.

Poor Hawk Harrelson
What was it exactly that he said in that broadcast? Something along the lines of “There is no way Jenks was throwing at Kinsler”.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Interesting thing in the ::cough::AJ Pierzynski::cough:: link
It mentions Adam Kennedy charging Feldman on the mound a few seasons ago… well, guess who is the newest Oakland A. Looks like these two may meet again.

actually pitching inside
off the inside corner regularly will have much more effect on hitters than some macho bullshit testosterone driven “message” pitch.

I don't have a problem with him intentionally throwing behind kinsler
but it does make hawk look like a total fool (which he didn’t need help with anyway), which is nice.
the preceding post was a great success.

Padilla responded in the correct way
by allowing only one hit. A much stronger ‘message’ than hitting someone in the ass.

If he wants to heighten awareness
of breast cancer he should ditch the pink goatee and go for a mammogram himself. If there was ever a doubt about him being a goon, then choosing a one run game to throw at a speedy runner in the ninth inning is proof enough. Watching live, it seemed on purpose simply because he’d hit his spots on all previous pitches in the inning, but common sense dictated that he just let one get away. I was wrong to consider common sense applying to Jenks.

I thought it was pretty obvious when it happened...
Pierzynski was set up dead center of the plate with his glove, then didn’t even attempt to try to track the pitch toward Kinsler. Pretty obvious as it happened that there was intent in the pitch and that Pierzynski was in on it too. Why else would he not even flinch with his glove as the pitch rode in on Kinsler?

So Jenks has now been fined – $750?!? Are we sure that he wasn’t asked how much he would like to be fined?
