Fastest Ranger?

Now that Golson has returned to his minor-league quarters, who do you think is the fastest Ranger?  I'm going to assume it's a 3-man race between Andrus, Hamilton, and Kinsler.  And rather than make it, say, a 40-yard dash, which might favor the quickness of Andrus over the size of Hamilton, let's say it's a timed home-plate to first to second to third race.  My guess is that Andrus and Hamilton would tie, followed closely by Ian.

Are you serious?

Elvis would blow them away.

So...why is John Hart still being paid?

Quite serious.

I think Josh’s speed is deceptive because of his size. I think if you’ve seen his triples, you realize that he gets to third extremely quickly.

I saw a video clip a few weeks ago of Hammy and Elvis playfully sprinting against each other during warm-ups. Elvis toyed with him.

Sigh ... we are sooo gonna suck again next season.

this

andrus would kill em both imho

ive always thought kinsler was more of a “smart” baserunner than a “fast” base runner

Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Scout to KG: On Sandoval: "Man, that fat [expletive]-er can hit."

i think hes both

He could steal 40 if the rangers wanted him to.
Not as fast as elvis though.

And while hes behind elvis/kinsler, tedford is certainly right that hamilton is fast. Perhaps the fastest 6"4’ player in the league if that counts for anything. Not sure how many there actually are.

the preceding post was a great success.

At FanFest

Kinsler said Michael Young ws the fastest, but that was before Elvis was around. He also said that Millwood was surprisingly quick.

According to Fangrapghs new speed number

Elvis is the fastest Ranger at 7.0, closely followed by Josh at 6.9, and then Ian at 6.0.

Linky

Take that FWIW, because I’ve heard the formula for arriving at that number is kinda funky (attn: Philkid).

Gordo Guardado

It is a great thing to know the season for speech and the season for silence.
