New T.R. Sullivan mailbag up

T.R. Sullivan has a new mailbag column up...

Lots of questions, including questions about trading for Dan Haren, Josh Johnson, Roy Halladay, and Clay Buchholz (Buchholz, by the way, in exchange for Hank Blalock), about trading away Vicente Padilla, when Derek Holland will move to the rotation and why Eddie Guaradado is still here, among other things...

Check it out...

Hello Ranger fans!

Your team is a pennant contender, not a pretender. You need to change your mindset. The Rangers will not be trading for prospects this year.

I'm glad that the Rangers might take another look at Aaron Crow

he was lights out pitching for the Cats Friday nite… Granted, it’s independent baseball, but hey…

As someone who saw him at the collegiate level...

… he strikes me as a very cerebral pitcher. Hell, he was smart enough not to sign with Washington last year.

I’d love to see him in a Ranger uniform.

That Blalock deal is perfect

Boston gives us a top pitching prospect and in return, they get half a season of a DH. I like TR’s response:

The Red Sox probably have a greater need to make that trade right now than the Rangers. They are looking for offense but probably aren’t eager to include Buchholz in any deal.

One of the times TR should absolutely ridicule a guy and instead he sees the logic behind it.

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Yeah I mean

did you ever realize that Nelson Cruz is older than Hank Blalock?

I like this one:

What is Chan Ho Park up to these days? Is he still in baseball?
— David N., Broken Arrow, Okla.

It probably should have been written this way:

What is Chan Ho Park up to these days? Is he still in baseball? Are there any other teams in the major leagues besides the Texas Rangers? Do I follow baseball closely enough to be sending you questions? Is it possible someone else’s question should have been included outside of this pointless query? How big is your dong? Have you ever watched Flash Gordon? Thanks in advance man.

Sincerely,
John Kruk

Chan Ho is Flash Gordon, Quarterback, New York Jets?

(Wife) "So what do you want to watch on the T.V.? UFC or porn?"
(Husband) "Hmm... well, porn, I guess."

Flash Gordon

Was he really the Jets’ QB? That could go a long way towards explaining why the Jets suck- their QB was out having space adventures instead of playing football.

And to think of the crap Tony Romo gets for hanging around with Jessica Simpson…

lol. yes.

In the movie he played for the Jets, but he showed Emperor Ming and Timothy Dalton how it’s done in Jersey.

Romo deserves any crap he gets for that...

It shows horrible judgement. That girl should always have her face in the pillow so she can’t be a sexual buzzkill by talking…

She should have her face in a pillow because it's an ugly face.

She’s great from the neck down, but in my eyes, she is a true “butterface.”

True

I can’t stand Jessica either. I’m not a huge fan of Carrie Underwood’s music, but at least she’s got talent and doesn’t look walk around with her mouth open all the time with skin the color of an Oompa-Loompa.

Romo picking Simpson over Underwood makes me think he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer either.

Blah, blah, blah trade Salty…

What is Teagarden doing with Matt Harrison that Saltalamacchia isn’t doing with Scott Feldman, Kevin Millwood or Padilla?

Thought this was interesting
Does Mike Maddux have any input on when to pull a pitcher and who to bring in?
— Steve P. Burleson, Texas

Yes. Ron Washington depends on him heavily when making pitching decisions. Maddux has significant input although Washington makes the final decision.

That might explain the sudden improvement in Ron’s bullpen managment this year…
