Trading Omar?
The news that the red sox are in the market for a stopgap shortstop til Jed Lowrie is back got me wondering if at some point this season, the rangers aren't faced with an offer for vizquel. Assuming we are still in the playoff hunt, do you flip omar if the deal is right (e.g. Lofton for MaxRam) regardless of where you stand knowing that this still should be used as a building year and you want to get one of the AAA infielders some MLB experience, or is he too valuable of a mentor to elvis and good clubhouse presence that you hang on to him? Would love to get the LSB consensus on this.

i dont think that he has any trade value personally
they are going to roll with lugo (who they owe a ton of money) i think — and green isnt THAT bad…
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Scout to KG: On Sandoval: "Man, that fat [expletive]-er can hit."
This.

Disagree
Not someone that is going ot help you this year, but I think Omar has just as much value to a team in the hunt as kenny lofton did and he brought back Max in return.

Lofton
Was still an everyday player back in ‘07. Vizquel is a bench guy with a whopping 48 PA’s. He doesn’t have the same amount of value Lofton did.

I think Omar
and AJ have more value to the Rangers than what any team is willing to give in return. Both have been through pennat races, playoffs and WS. That experience will be important to the Rangers come Sept.

Well you could offer Arias
Then up the trade demand to one of the ‘untouchable’ pitchers, they yell “FAKE” into the phone at Theo …. I guess.

InsideCornerMichael Young on crutches, had X-rays on right foot, no report on whether its broken. Still hopes to play today. Developing.
Go Rangers...don't suck...
Id deal arias but not omar
or even vallejo if the price is right.

He has more value to the Rangers
is his current role than to another team and the return would be minimal.

I can only imagine
that he’s really providing the Kid with great advice. That’s more valuable to me than another Hamburger-type prospect.

I'd like to see Eddie and Omar retire as Rangers this season and comeback in some kind of coaching capacity
Eddie as a bullpen coach… Omar as… something
Seems these guys command a lot of respect from the troops
Great point
I’d like to know what there thoughts are on that situation.
