Remember though, all of this is just because major league baseball wants to tap into the DFW media market.

Yanks coming in

I would really like to see the Rangers take atleast 2 of 3 from them just so ESPN can stick it up their ass.

it certainly is starting to look sustainable to me.

At first the Yankee series got me excited

Just for the simple reason ESPN will have to give us air time and lead off Sport Center. Then I got to thinking it won’t matter if we win every game by 20 runs or lose by 20 runs. They will lead off by either the Yanks are starting to dominate, the rest of the AL better watch out. Or How did the Yankees go into this series with the Rangers and lose when AROD and Tex were on fire.

Fuck ESPN! Long live MLB Network!

Go RANGERS!!

Rangers and Yanks

will actually be on ESPN2 on Wednesday night. I do enjoy national televised games… even if we will be subject to the same talking points

I am probably in the minority on this...

but I don’t mind Phillips in the booth all that much. No doubt that Morgan sucks though. Maybe Phillips seems tolerable by comparison.

What makes a perfect baseball day..

1. Rangers win
2. Angels lose
3. M’s lose
4. A’s lose
5. Yankees lose

….4 out of 5 yesterday, I’ve got my fingers crossed for today.

by cspott on May 24, 2009 11:03 AM CDT reply actions

3 out of 5 maybe?

eh

I don’t care about the Yankees. At this point I think I’d rather see the Tigers lose and the Red Sox lose (boy do I hate the Red Sox).

It’s actually amazing that when you cleanse ESPN out of your system, you stop caring about the Yankees. Oddly, the Red Sox hatred doesn’t go away.

Add the Red Sox losing

to that list. Any time the Pasty Nation goes down, it’s still a pretty good day regardless.

Aikman and Bradshaw?

Please. They are in the same league as Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon as QBs who were taken to the SB by great Defenses and great Running Games.

I hate the Red Cox more than the Yankers

Used to be the opposite until the Red Cox won the WS. All these neo-Red Sox fans show up everywhere. I recently met a couple fron El Paso who were Neo-Red Cox fans.

At least you know who the Yankee fans are.

by Evil Monkey on May 24, 2009 11:43 AM CDT up reply actions

I know a guy at a different message board I post at who's an old-school Red Sox fan

He says they call the ones who became fans in 2004 “pink hats.” They hate the “pink hats” just as much as we do.

You can always tell a “pink hat” by asking him or her who the manager was in 2003.

O'Day

has been a Godsend. How long till Murray gets auditioned?

Man, I love winning! You know? It's like better than losing!

by SteveP on May 24, 2009 11:53 AM CDT reply actions

I've got to think that either Pirate or Feliz

will come up only when the bullpen is a little taxed. Right now they get more work in AAA and would barely ever get used.

I think the next horrible start, Benson will come in for long relief, look terrible and the next day he’ll be DFA’d and Pirate will be called up

by texasraider on May 24, 2009 11:59 AM CDT up reply actions

I doubt it

Murray is a LOOGY, not a long reliever.

I find it difficult to believe they would carry Murray, Guardado and Wilson all on the roster, particularly if Holland goes back to the pen when Padilla comes off the d.l.

by Adam J. Morris on May 24, 2009 12:01 PM CDT up reply actions

that was the next question

whether murray is effective against righties.

Man, I love winning! You know? It's like better than losing!

by SteveP on May 24, 2009 12:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah with the way Eddie has pitched recently coupled with his veteran leadership and mentoring he seems to bring I don't see a place for Murray for awhile

Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.

by bigsteve on May 24, 2009 12:06 PM CDT up reply actions

crap, for some reason I was thinking Pirate was a righty

well my original point was that there is a need a power righty in the pen and where I originally thought there were two options available, there is still Feliz.

There is a lot of reasons why I wouldn’t want him throwing more than once every three to four days but I definitely see a place for him on this team

Pretty much the only problem with DOD

He’s a Gator.
Honestly, we should have all known Brad Wilkerson was going to be a bust…. another Gator.

And anyone that talks shit about Marshall McDougall… just remember that he did hit 6 home runs in a single game at FSU.

The game...
He will perhaps always be most famous for his performance on May 9, 1999, where, against the University of Maryland, College Park Terrapins, his 7 for 7 performance at the plate with 6 home runs, 16 RBI, and 25 total bases shattered NCAA single game records in all three categories.
