the biggest difference between 2004 and 2005 and now

the angels.

its not like the lead is full proof or anything but it helps to know that if the rangers only slack off the way they did in 2004, they have a legitimate shot at the league lead.

Of course if they hit a stretch like they hit in 2005, then I doubt any single digit lead is sustainable. But this doesn’t feel like 2005’s success either

I think the Angels are kinda like the Mavericks

The window of opportunity was there, and they didn’t capitalize. Now they’ll continue to be competitive, but second tier and weighed down by large contracts. Of course they don’t have to deal w/ a salary cap like the Mavs, and Moreno will spend. But it ain’t gonna happen for them anytime soon.

Like where you're going with this, but...

The Angels have won a title with Scoscia. The Mavs…well, it’s still a sad story. And once the Angels get their pitching back, they’ll be back in the hunt. However, I agree they have their hands full this year with OUR team. GO RANGERS.

I've wiped 2002 from my mind. :)

Completely forgot about that, shouldn’t type w/ hangover. Damn game 6. Oh well, the SOBs are going downhill.

McDavid

It would be a very good PR move for him to just casually mention what a great job he thinks Ryan is doing.

Never the wrong thread if you're talking about how great Ryan is

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Poor Billy Beane

This was supposed to be when he’s genius would crap on all the other general managers. Weak division time to pounce! Trade for Holliday, bring Giambi back, call Anderson/Cahill up etc. Oh well, tough luck bitch.

The CJ hate is getting old.

But we need to hope

that Holliday slumps or tweaks a hammy or something and they can’t get much in trade for him.

I think if Holliday keeps going at this pace

it’d be surprising if they get much at all for him. Fair or not, he’s getting labeled as a Colorado-only hitter.

I have an irrational hatred of Chris Davis because his Ks are way too ugly and irrational liking of Matt Harrison because he's a lefty - deal with it.
