For Austin Rangers fans
For my fellow Austin Rangers fans who are frustrated by the flakiness of Time Warner:
I made a discovery two days ago. I have the DTV box instead of cable. I get a few channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW and PBS). The CBS channel actually has 2 signals (42.1 and 42.2). I'm at home right now and 42.2 is broadcasting the game. They also showed the game against the Ms two nights ago. Usually all they show are reruns of the Rockford Files and Knight Rider, which don't get me wrong is pretty cool. But having the Rangers on crystal clear in my living room made my night. I don't know if this is a season-long thing or if it's going to be intermittent or what, but it was a pretty great discovery. So, if you use the box, give it a look. Or unhook your cable and there you go.
Also, AM 1530 broadcasts the games on the air and on their site:
http://www.espnaustin.com
That will be $5.

If you have Time Warner Digital...
…it’s channel 1532. Vanilla signal, not HD.

you have been getting games
that would have been on 77 last year on 1532? If you search by theme it doesn’t show up on the list for me.
I get U-verse hooked up at the new house on Saturday so its moot for me anyways. I’ve been going to a buddy’s house and watching his FSW-D channel on his uverse. Can’t wait to drop TW.
I cant wait for Round Rock to switch its affiliation to the Rangers. Gawd it sucks to turn on FSN and have the astros on every night. For some reason FSN thinks that austinites really want to watch the most boring team in baseball at least 5 nights a week.
They used to air on 77, which is the infomercial channel. At the beginning of the year when I called Time Warner, they had no idea how many games they would air or if they would be airing any… I freaked out and switched to DirectTV. I’ve been able to see every FSSW game, but when they’re on KDFI I don’t think I’ll get them.
Your way, if it works all season, is much easier

Dish Network has it all
Dish has almost every Rangers game on either FSSW or an alternate sports channel. They even have the games on KDFI a lot. It is awesome.
I also have the mlb app on the iphone. It lets me listen to every Rangers game in the car. Awesome.

yeah that's pretty much what I use it for
except for day games when I’m at work, then I’ll use it to listen to the audio….

mlb app
I know the app is probably free but do you have to pay MLB for radio content (like mlb.tv or the radio feeds online)?

the app isn't free
it costs 9.99 to buy it and it comes with the home/away audio feeds for each game.

well what do you mean
the 9.99 you are spending is for the app which comes with the audio feeds like I said above. Are they free in that you had to pay something to get them? No. But are they free if you mean other than the 9.99 which you paid to access them? Well, no because you had to pay 9.99.

Well, it's so tightly controlled online...
I’m surprised you don’t have to buy a “season” or even a month’s worth of feeds, even after you’ve paid for the app.

nope
it’s 9.99 for the 2009 season. Every single game’s home/away audio feed. It’s an awesome app.

That wasn’t enough for me though, so I recently made the switch to Uverse.
