sometimes I get tired of reading all the criticism lobbed at TR's mailbags
but damn, these things just seem to be getting weaker and weaker.
Crops on the Farm is much better reading.
"He's old school in that he give up his groin like that. It hurt me when he do that" -- Worsh on Chris Davis' stretch at first base to end the game vs. the Angels on 5/16
This is a little off-topic, but considering his past, does Josh Hamilton have to avoid the post-walk-off beer shower when he hits one of his walk-off shots?

I loved it when Aubrey Huff went yard off of him and rounded the bases doing fistpumps

Huff
there’s something hilarious about him … and it’s not the Arlington roots.

I find fat people trying to do normal people manuevers to be a source of endless hilarity.

TR serving Sam H. of Cattle Town.
When I played, I was taught to have the brand of the bat facing me. Do the players today pay attention to that anymore? Looks to me that they don’t and they break a lot of them.
— Sam H., Fort Worth, Texas
Most bats get broken when a pitcher jams them inside with a 90-95 mph fastball rather than the old “holding the label the wrong way.”
Funny.
I'm Ron Burgundy?
visited the Louisville Slugger museum
last month, and they explained that the biggest reason for that old mantra is that hitting the ball on the part of the bat with the highest concentration of lines is better because it is harder that direction. I would think that most ballplayers would be more concerned with hitting the ball with the best part of the bat rather than breaking it
it also matters less for major leaguers since the bats the use are better quality than other wooden bats that anyone else gets. Less than 5% of wooden bats are quality enough for the MLB
MLB just recently began changing what side the label appears on too..
It was covered in a recent article about the whole “maple bats are dangerous” meme.
The Texas Rangers have been synonymous with explosive firepower ever since they emptied 130 rounds into Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in 1934. - Alyssa Milano
At least
that mailbag didn’t include the obligatory, “Do you think we could get Oswalt for Andruw Jones and Matt Harrison” type trade offer.

No, no, no
We would have to add a bag of corn nuts to that deal to land Oswalt
