turley is still on the board (woo! lol) — hope they take him late
any big time guys who have dropped today (like harold martinez last year)?
who are everyone’s guys to grab thats left?
what was everyone’s fav 2nd day pick?
GO RANGERS!
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

catchers. At least 5 or 6.
Elvis Andrus - 2009 AL Rookie of the Year
Mitch Moreland - 2009 Rangers Minor League POY
C Miles Hamblin
A&M’s 1B/DH Anders and KSU’s MI Biery are my completely illogical pets for tomorrow. Hamblin is a CC guy and the other two are senior signs.
My favorite picks today were the two CC guys at the end of the first ten picks, and Chris Matlock for his ridic stats.
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
the prepsters
Jamison and Strong could be great picks if they sign, as well.

BA has a list of the best of the rest
many prepsters who won’t sign at this point, but a couple of intriguing names remain, besides the aforementioned Hamblin.

I especially like Jake Wilson, a senior RHP out of New Mexico State (and Blinn before that) and Andrew Clark, a very patient 1B who may be a tough sign as a junior.

and Danny Bilbona out of UC Irvine
is a stathead darling lefty (which means me probably throws about 80 mph) who i thought had already been drafted.

makes me miss DRH even more :(

this kid had been drafted
by the Cards, quite a while back. Get your shit straight, BA. Theres only thousands of names involved.

Draft fatigue
I almost feel hungover in a baseball pants sense. I’ll need to detox a bit before the international FA sign date.

We can have a
postdraft, pre-Intl period community list this month! :)

i hate ranking players
before they sign…it feels like a jinx.

Can they please find
the Dominican equivalent (Senior Spielbergo?) of Bud Selig and have a tv show announcing the international signings? I’d love to see Harold Reynolds pretend he knows anything about those guys.

I forgot to say "non-union"
although when watching Selig I get the sense they’re thinking “we did 37 takes and that was the best one.”

Okay the 'Taste My Desire' ad on the right, above the fanposts
I seriously had to do a double take, I thought it was Ron Washington for a second.

"The House That Ruth Built, 85 years old, goes out as The House That Hamilton Knocked Down"
after looking back at this draft list
and reading through Jason Cole’s excellent chat today, i think theres a pretty decent chance we sign 20 or few of these top 31 picks, and honestly, if we get up to 22 or so, i’ll be pretty happy about it. Our system simply didn’t have room for the typical org soldiers you see drafted, so they went out and grabbed a bunch of kids who they have a chance at signing (and yet stayed away from kids who seemed legitimately out of reach for the most part). The only picks i truly didn’t like were our seventh rounder, Lane, and our 12th rounder, DiFazio. Lane seems unlikely to sign, and there is still too much legit talent on the board in the 7th (we grabbed Bianucci there last season, for example) to take a flier on a kid like Lane. DiFazio I am tempted to take a wait and see approach, as he had battled injuries the past two years and put up great numbers in limited action this past year, so maybe there’s something there, but he still seemed like a reach at 12.
It will be interesting to see what happens over the next two months. We usually take fliers in the later rounds on about five intriguing prepsters, but this year we have about 12 guys like that. If we can just sign three or four, I’d be more than pleased.

can you put a link to the chat
as far as difazio goes take the wait and see approach. plus there really arent any reaches in the 12th round
