I'm wondering

…how much rain we have to get before the Trinity levees fail. I can see it from the roof of my building and it looks like the Mississipi. Or at least the Missouri. Usually it just looks kind of like a creek.

Heh, Wash is a bad manager, eh?
Give us your perspective on the job Joe Torre has done and what makes him such a good manager.

Torre is a pretty even-keeled guy. He never gets too high or too low. Sometimes I don’t understand his bullpen usage patterns, but I can’t argue with the rotation he has settled on — Ronald Belisario and Ramon Troncoso setting up Jonathan Broxton. I don’t get too caught up in batting order, as long as the right eight guys are in the lineup.

From a Dodgers blogger.

Same shit, different uniform, huh?

I'm finally on board with Wash

…but not firmly. My main issue with him was the Rangers mastery of April Clown Baseball prior to this year. I’m guessing camp went better or something because the start was pretty good this year, so as long as the players play hard for him he’s cool with me.

Regarding the cell approaching DFW:

SPC mesoanalysis is reporting CAPE over 7000 in that area now! Wow. I’m not sure I can remember ever seeing a storm actually go up in that kind of instability. The TX storms appear to backbuilding somewhat against the mean flow, they haven’t budged much off the dryline since initiation. That can only help any tornado chances.

TAG talking about that play reminds of an Eckstein play

Eckstein had no clue where a pop up went, the runner on 1st was going because Eckstein was clueless, and then he managed to grab the pop-up (or maybe the SS). The commentator couldn’t stop talking about how this makes Eckstein the best player in baseball because his shitty defense fools runners.

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
