I'd say Phillips handled his return to the rotation well

7ip 1h 1 unearned (ala 2 Edwin Garcia throwing errors) 2bb 7ks.

Does Zach Phillips have to choke a bitch to get to Frisco?

Personally

I’d like to see Castillo get another shot at starting soon, also. That’s a very talented arm, he’s still young and in low-A.

I wouldn't be against it.

He’s definitely been sort of a long-man this year. A transition for him would probably be a lot easier than the 10 or 11 missing days of Phillips.

I do like the use of the semi-tandem system in Low A to help limit innings of guys like Perez, Font, and Brigham. If Castillo keeps pitching like he is, I think the gloves will start to come off with him.

Nice work out of Phillips, that's a stout final line

Interesting that Hickory is 6th in OPS. It seems like Bianucci has provided 4/5 of their offense this year.

Just looked it up. Nooch has a 1.046 OPS, Morrison is at an impressive .963. From there, it drops all the way down to Doug Hogan. Only three others (Paisano, Fry, and West) have cracked the mythical .700 barrier. The California League, this is not.

I guess he got the memo about the 40?

Evidently

Who was it that said this week they weren’t sure they’d add Fabio to the 40 this winter? Fabio must have read that post and decided to send a big “eff you!” shout out.

Fabio, if you’re reading this, I was the one who started that conversation by saying I would add you.

Nice to see fabio and zach start dialing it up

what with the utter dearth of quality and consistent performances from our pitchers down on the farm, especially zach who has always been a favorite of mine. Its ironic that the big league club has been our source of entertainment this year while the minor league ones have struggled maddeningly across the board.

If you can figure that out

please let JD and company know because I’m not sure they can pinpoint it either. It’s driving everyone crazy, probably Main most of all.

His Last Start Was Skipped

His last start was skipped and I’ve tried to find some info on him on the Blaze’s page, but there’s a big load of nothing. Anyone have any news? Someone mentioned they though they heard on the Blaze broadcast for that skipped start that he was rehabbing something in Arizona? Any new information?

It was reported that

he is back in Arizona rehabbing his season.

Richard Blionheart

I’m rooting for him, for no special reason he’s a fave of mine. Keep the ball in the park, don’t walk anyone, good things can happen. K rate rising (small sample warning) with each promotion. He just strikes me as the kind of lefty who can do alright in Arlington.
