Lot of good stuff in there.
Adam is the master of the exasperated sigh.

One discussion I really enjoyed
was about Holland’s last start and his struggles. Everything Hindman said about Holland having to make adjustments for the first time as a pro could also be said about Chris Davis. I’d give Davis until the ASB before I made any changes at 1B.

That sigh and the "oh god"..
was awesome.
I can’t believe anybody would want to give up on Derek Holland.
I was a little beaten down last night

The Hyman Roth ref...
Parenthood?
I heard the beaten downness there, whatever it was.

Hyman Roth
The Godfather. “This, Michael, is the work we have chosen.” I say that to other divorce lawyers quite often when we are grousing about our jobs.
When we recorded the podcast, I had just finished the 6th day of a long, contentious, difficult trial. I was pretty worn out and drained.

So, this week you're looking forward to being
a retired investor living on a pension?

Yah
Got the Godfather part, just wasn’t sure of the specific beatdown.
Actually, just read this yesterday. I wonder if the ideas are old hat for a divorce lawyer…

Given a choice between
nails on a chalk board and AdMo’s increasingly acidic shtick, it’s a tough call….
Ha!

We all matriculated in the Buck Showalter School of Baseball Fans
The eminent Jamey Newberg, on the other hand, went to the University of Washington.
I quit listening at the 18:00 mark
Ted was talking too much, Meno was tilting at windmills, MJH was name-dropping … but I went back later after insomnia set in picking up where I left off and I’m glad I did. Good show.
so just a question ted
but how many avg downloads do you get for the podcast?
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.
-
Scout to KG: On Sandoval: "Man, that fat [expletive]-er can hit."
We get about 1,000 per show
That’s been pretty consistent since we started. When the team does better, the numbers go up – and back down when they hit a losing streak. I think that as the team continues to improve and is a contender later in the season, more people will take the time to download and listen.
The really col thing is that every show makes it to at least the top-30 on the iTunes charts for sports-related podcasts. More often than not, we’re usually the only one not produced by ESPN or a podcast of some radio show somewhere in the country.

The podcast
Always the good listen although I listened to it late, late at night so my recall of details is not going to be spot-on as usual.
Caught the Hymen (sp?) Roth reference.
Hindman sounded, shall we say, very self-assured (in contrast to his wobbly BAD Radio appearance last summer) while AJM epitomizes “beaten down.”
AJM can’t let go of his Blalock hate.
Hindman made good point that although Holland got kicked around on Sunday he still had the team in a position to win the game.
These boys are on board with me on Brandon Boggs.
Lots of nervous shuffling when it came to discussing the Ron Washington extension. It seems as though everybody is afraid to say something negative about it (even though every bit of evidence in front of us knows he’s in waaaaaaay over his head) and that any insinuation of Washington’s incompetence, suggests you’re racist.
Recommended listening if you’re a sicko Ranger fan.

yeah
I’ve got a track record of being “afraid” to say something negative about Ron Washington. Good point. http://insidecorner.dmagazine.com/index.php/2009/04/18/about-last-night/

I’ve seen and participated in the “Bring Me the Head of Ron Washington” threads at NMLR.
It was quite late last night and the Washington extension talk wasn’t until the very end (do remember you saying that high school teams were better prepared for their seasons than the 2007 & 08 Rangers) but both of you were lukewarm at best in your assessments of Washington’s managerial ability.
We both know that Washington’s incompetence is a problem this thing will need to overcome if it wants to win the division.

I also don’t read your takes as much as I did in the past so I missed what you may have written recently about Washington.

Is it technically possible
to have a call-in edition?

Oh, God, please no.
Not unless the callers were carefully screened. A much better idea is simply to have questions emailed in and they can choose the best ones.
