Bullpen Situation
I'd like to hear what your opinions are of the bullpen. Specifically, what would you do once Dustin Nippert, Willie Eyre, and FX2 return.
Currently the bullpen consists of:
Wilson
Guardado
O'Day
Grilli
Jennings
Mathis
Moscoso
Optioning Moscoso to AAA for FX2 is a given. It gets more tricky once Eyre and Nippert are ready. I think that Guardado's time is up. He has no value to this team considering he can't go multiple innings and is not effective enough to be thrown out there in meaningful games. Lastly, I think a decision must be made between Grilli, Mathis, and Nippert. I think most would say rid ourselves of Grilli. Tough call in my mind. Another longshot possibility would be to move Jennings to the rotation (which has been recently discussed) and option Holland to AAA or put him back in the pen. I don't really want Jennings put in the rotation because of his terrific pitching out of the pen and I worry he would not stay healthy starting. I'm not sure if Eyre has options remaining, but if so, optioning him and giving us more of a look at Grilli, Mathis, and Nippert would be nice. I think this would be ideal:
FX2
Wilson
O'Day
Jennings
Eyre
Mathis
Nippert/Grilli (Can't make up my mind on this one)
and a rotation of:
Millwood
Feldman
Padilla
Harrisson
Holland
What do yall think is the best way to go?

I think its pretty easy
Moscosco goes down when Frankie is ready
Mathis goes down when Nippert is ready
Eyre gets optioned when hes ready
Your bullpen looks like this: Frankie, CJ, ODay, Eddie, Jennings, Grilli, Nippert
Nippert throws hard enough to use as a late inning guy if you want (although I wouldn’t) and can also be your long man and go multiple innings. Eddie goes back into a situational lefty role which he is fine in. Hes actually been really good since about the first couple weeks of the season.

Yeah
I was out of town for his last couple and didn’t know he had been that bad lately. I guess you could release him and call up AJ Murray but I think if you put Eddie as a situational guy he can still help you and I would much rather have him, or any veteran really, over AJ Murray if we are in a pennant race.

Eddie is dead to me, but we need another lefty out there.
I would give him a few more weeks, if he continues to blow, bring up Murray.
I thought it be all warm and shitty, but it just tasted like normal beer. It was still cold.

If we keep Eddie
He sure as shot needs to be used exclusively in a situational role. He can’t face RHB’s.
The way he’s currently being used, I’d rather see him dropped and just roll with another righty, myself.
If you can't watch Holland and see that he's going to be awesome, you probably shouldn’t be watching baseball. - Section 339

Eddie
Coming in to tonight’s game, left-handed batters were hitting .414 against Eddie this year.

hah
i noticed that too. he has been good against righties, though i dont expect that to continue. i dont think he should be used as a situational lefty, he’s just not very good anymore.

It will be nice to have
2 RHP in the bullpen that can get some Ks.

My 'pen would be...
Two Frank
BGL
O’Day
Jennings
Eyre
Pirate
Nippert/Grilli
I’m done with Eddie again. It seems that he got a little lucky and had a few good outings, but is now back to not doing so well. I think that AJ would be a much better second LH option for the ’pen right now. I also think that Madrigal could be an option after the ASB if he keeps pitching well in OKC.

Probably Nippert too.

I don't think the answer is currently on the roster
Mahay and Cruz might be available for cheap. I’d give KC Poveda or someone like him — a c-grade prospect in our system, who would be a top 20 in their system — and a bat. Maybe Vallejo.
That's why they call them business sox

now knowing that Eyre has options
and the preference of having two guys who can pitch several innings if need be, I’d stash Eyre in AAA, DFA Eddy, and roll w/ FX2, CJ, O’Day, Jennings, Grilli, Nippert, and Mathis. Eyre, Madrigal, and Murray would be waiting for the call.

Grilli is intriguing...
…no reason to ship him out yet.
