those f'n minor league groupie whores!!!!

How dare you do this to one of our top prospects!!! May God smite you.

And thanks a lot Hollywood for glorifying this whoriness!

"Dear dumb ass folowers of FSMism,

There have been a lot of weird things that i have seen in my life before, but this tops them all. Do you really believe that there is/was such a thing as a flying spaghetti monster? Seriously, how fucking old are you? I know there’s such a thing as freedom of speech and expression, but this kinda shit should be banned. Theres is only one God and one Holy Word. Why dont you people get that? How much sense does it make to say that decreasing numbers of pirates lead to an increase in average global temperature? Is that science or some fifth grader trying to sound smart?"

This season has just been a disaster for Main.

maybe good news?

He may have had (undiagnosed) mono this whole season. That may be why he has sucked. When I had mono, I could barely jog the length of a basketball court, so I imagine trying to pitch 6 innings would be…um…difficult.

Yeah

And its going to take him a while to get the stamina and strength back to where it needs to be

not TOO long as long as he's been given fluids and the proper medication

I had mono when I was at USAFA and had to go through Recognition (hell week) 2 weeks after I was diagnosed. He’ll be fine.

Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

You must have had a mild case

I went in at the first sign of illness, was diagnosed immediately, and received the proper course of antibiotics. That worked. I was only really sick for a few days. But it weakened me for about three months. For the first six weeks I didn’t want to do anything, and I certainly couldn’t have done much if it were required of me. This was in college, when I was in probably the best shape of my life.

yeah me too (being in good shape)

but I think it was a bad case – I went out the night before I was ushered to the hospital – didn’t drink, but stayed out REALLY late, and the next day my roommates were trying to talk to me cause I wouldn’t move and I couldn’t answer. They had to carry me to the emergency room, where they gave me an IV and said I was pretty damn close to my spleen exploding.

Same here

Can only hope that that is the main reason behind his lack of success this season.

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

I lost 25 lbs when I got mono a few years ago

it is easily the most debilitating thing I have suffered through. I was even given steroids! Hopefully that will help Main’s velocity ..

In HS I had mono.

It would not go away, and eventually I was ordered to stay indoors for three months…gawd that was a fun fucking summer…

I too lost a ton of weight, and was weak as a newborn kitten. Just being outside in the heat/sun of a summer day wiped me out.

Same thing happened to me

got it when I was 14 or so. Lost an entire summer to it and 25+ pounds.

maybe he's just really bored

Mono sucks

I had it for 8 months. Couldn’t shake it. It can also develop into something more serious like fibromyalgia. Ask Rocco Baldelli about that one. I’m sure he’s taking it more serious than I did, and it won’t affect him for as long as it did me. But it can be a life-changing illness.

Hold me.

Im actually glad this is the case

as sad as that sounds. Whether or not this is the sole reason he struggled, it has to be a big reason, a real big reason. I hope he gets well quickly

Because it's Michael Main

I think JD’s doing this to spite all the "when we gon’ get sum pitchin’ in here" idiots.
