AJM comes in strong with a Bill James reference but there seems to be some inconsistency.

He tells us that the Ranger pitchers really aren’t any better this year and that their improvement has to do more with the improved team defense. This seems to be a not so thinly veiled way to discredit the Nolan Ryan influence on the team and it’s really contradictory when we hear Adam bitch about Michael Young’s defense at 3B (even though he’s only 50 games into his transition phase) later on in the show.

So he won’t credit Nolan and he throws a tomato at MYoung – shocking.

Adam, did you really say “….Blalock has zero value to us right now” ?

Really?

We don’t know how long Josh Hamilton is going to out for but it does not look good and Chris Davis (.247 obp) is drowning before our eyes.

Blalock’s 9 for 24 in the last 10 days and his obp has come up nearly 30 points in that time as well. You may hate the ballplayer but right now, he has tremendous value to the team and he’s starting to heat up.

Saying Hank Blalock has “zero value” to the Rangers is flat-out wrong.
