Are we still doing the 'First Place Mother Effin' Texas Rangers' at the beginning of every day/game?
This falls in the category of "I'll get the KY ready so the ass-fucking won't hurt as bad."

Its when everyone in the AL West gave up the same number of runs
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

no one obsesses about the Mariners

If we do fall out of first place, the angst level of this place will plummet
The void that remains will quickly be filled by rivers of “I told you so”.
I for one, welcome our pseudo-prophetic overlords
I won't say it.
My predictions can be found in the dusty, foul smelling archives of LSB. But they looked for real for quite a while and this is hard to stomach.

Not one person predicted the offense would sink us
Nobody can say I told you so
"I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the [MLB] for guys to fall in love with [the Rangers’s] sloppy seconds." (thanks cstorm)
That's one reason why I said I wouldn't say it, haha
It’s all in those dusty archives.

I thought putting Andrus in
and taking Bradley out would drop us to the 800s for runs in the season, but I didn’t think the offense would shut down completely like it has.
We have seen the offense completely shut down before, but it was at the very start of a season.

My thinking was along the same lines
I didn’t think the hitting would be as good as last year, but I didn’t think it would be a problem. Never in my life would I have imagined a catastrophic failure like what has happened.

That's not true. Hamilton was kinda due for an extended trip to the DL
Seemed unlikely he’d be able to stay off it two years straight

What makes you say that?
I don’t think his injuries this year have anything to do with his previous history. He got injured playing the game regardless of what he did to his body years ago
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
hmm
can i see a link where you say anything like this at the beginning of the season?
"I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the [MLB] for guys to fall in love with [the Rangers’s] sloppy seconds." (thanks cstorm)
and actually
I remember calling him brittle and someone yelled at me. and i’m still not going to say i thought the offense would be middling.
"I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the [MLB] for guys to fall in love with [the Rangers’s] sloppy seconds." (thanks cstorm)
Oh gee, looky there, still in first place.
Meanwhile, behind the facade of this innocent looking bookstore:
GP AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BA OBP SLG OPS
17 563 58 126 23 3 18 209 51 .224 .281 .371 .652
Those are the abysmal June numbers, lowest runs scored in the AL, and 24th in all of MLB. This is after being 5th in the AL, and 6th in MLB in runs scored in May.
This offensive malaise has infected the entire team, but it cannot, and will not last.

I don't care if we fall out of first place
If we make it to the all-star break and are, say, 3.5 back, how can you complain? We’ve already gone through the toughest part of our schedule, we’ll be getting some big guns back, we have more trade ammo than anybody at the deadline, and we play the angels a ton down the backstretch. The opportunity to win the division will be there.
WE OVERREACT HERE AT LSB, AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT.

Folks overreact
at all fan websites I’ve ever seen. Its not peculiar to LSB.
Have you been to a Cowboy website? When they win, they are going to the super bowl, when they lose, they need to fire everyone and dismantle the team.

I was over at the Giants SBN just reading the comments and whatnot
a few talk about us the way we talk about the Mariners with overreactions.

I don't dread this flawed, incomplete project falling out of first ...
I dread the FO trading away gems trying to prop it up.
Question
When was the last time this FO traded away gems trying to prop up a team gripping to contention?
Go Rice Owls!

Someone Less Lazy Than I Am
Should break down the Rangers position by position and compare them to the AL position averages.
Where does it hurt?
I did that about a month ago
First base was dead last. Everywhere else was middling to good.
That will have changed since then, of course.

Kind of crazy that Millwood is pitching on Father's Day again
Wasn’t it FDay that he pitched in 07 and got his last road win.. until 08 again on FDay. And then now again on the road and FDay and he’s pitching
The NL West road trip....
we can refer to it as, “the one that ended our season”.

Do you have a new subtitle for LSB, Adam?
After today we could end up as just “Angriest Fans of an MLB team”
