It looks like he is a little bit of a ball player. I checked his splits and he’s actually better at Petco this year than away.
Does he have a good +/- ?

He's -4.1 runs UZR/150 in CF this year
But he’s been worth 17 in left (though in just 13 games).
He was actually worth 3.3 runs in CF last year, and minues 2.7 in left.

Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan was on the same pitching staff with Danny Darwin during the 1986 through 1988 seasons. Both were described by Milo Hamilton as "tall, tough Texans." It was a source of debate amongst Astros players and fans over who would win in a fight, Ryan or Darwin. Though Astros pitcher Bob Knepper attempted to set up a fight between the two during spring training in 1988, manager Hal Lanier stopped it before it could commence. Many experts, including Astros shortstop Rafael Ramirez, felt that Darwin would win because he "looked like someone no man would want to mess with."

The Rangers' flight arrived back at Love Field at 4:43 this morning. I didn't expect them to be sharp at all.

From what Nadel and Barnett are saying
The Rangers purposely held Davis trying not to run up a score.

I wasn't paying attention and when I saw 12 runs I thought maybe young had gotten a hit with RISP
then he appears and Ks.
the preceding post was a great success.

Okay
I just rewound the TiVo so I could see the Davis hit.
Jim Knox asked someone in the stands who hit the game winning homer last night, the person said Davis, and he said they were wrong, it was actually Murphy.
Davis seems like the correct answer to me.
Well, Murphy's homer was the final difference, thanks to Jennings.

Tachnically it was Murphy's homer
that provided the winning run…. but I’m with you
Technically
Murphys run was the winning run
But Davis did break the tie.

Just curious...
did anyone do “Postmodernism” at school?
I’m doing it right now in Year 11 (or as a high school junior), and it’s just…confusing.
Remember to retire Fin's number, Mark.
You have a class on postmodernism?
What do they teach you?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: Can't take a fucking to save their lives.
English class
studying postmodernism, Travesties by Tom Stoppard.
Remember to retire Fin's number, Mark.
I would love to know
how Tom Stoppard reacts to being labeled “postmodernist.”
And I’m somewhat confused as to how a play set in the early 20th century and featuring arch-modernist author James Joyce is “postmodernist”?
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: Can't take a fucking to save their lives.
We haven't been given a solid definition of postmodernism
“Appreciation of the English language?”
Remember to retire Fin's number, Mark.
There's a reason for that.
Even those dubious folks who claim to be postmodernists don’t know what it means, and most of the people who get pasted with the postmodernist label by others don’t especially want or care about it…
It’s sort of a meaningless term.
Your 2009 Texas Rangers: Can't take a fucking to save their lives.

German Duran
The Rangers put him on release waivers but want to re-sign him if he clears, per Anthony Andro. Because he’s on the minor league d.l., if a team claims him, he has to go on the major league d.l., which is why they are putting him on waivers this way.
That's good to hear
As much as it looks like Duran won’t get much of a shot again with the Rangers, I still would rather keep him around in case he gets hot in the minors again. He’s only what, 24/25?
