I wouldn't say no one else thinks there's a problem with it...

you’re just making it into a case where it’s the end of the world and the world will blow up shortly because he hit 6th for one freakin’ game.

Personally if I had the choice, I would have hit him 8th or 9th likely tonight just to get his feet wet. But at this point, it doesn’t really matter where he’s hitting. I wouldn’t have hit him leadoff though like you seem to have wanted.

JB: Hi Mr. Jaramillo. My name is Julio. Do you have any advise for me on my first day with the big club? I’m DH’ing today for some fucking weird ass reason.

RJ: I don’t know why you’re DH’ing tonight.

RW: His name kind of sounded like Albert Pujols to me so I went with it.

RJ: Well kid, whatever you do, don’t get all cute and try to draw walks. You’re in the big leagues, and we’re all hackers up here.

RW: Has anyone seen my cupcake? Damn, I lost my pack of Winston’s too. Hey Andruw, you aren’t supposed to eat cupcakes and smoke Winston’s at the same time!!!

go team go!

Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan was on the same pitching staff with Danny Darwin during the 1986 through 1988 seasons. Both were described by Milo Hamilton as "tall, tough Texans." It was a source of debate amongst Astros players and fans over who would win in a fight, Ryan or Darwin. Though Astros pitcher Bob Knepper attempted to set up a fight between the two during spring training in 1988, manager Hal Lanier stopped it before it could commence. Many experts, including Astros shortstop Rafael Ramirez, felt that Darwin would win because he "looked like someone no man would want to mess with."

Struck out 7 guys an inning...

It's not very good either.

And for a guy like Backe who doesn’t do anything like get a ton of GB’s to make up for it, it’s especially not good.

There’s just no sense in looking at Backe, in my estimation. He’s not better than anyone we currently have in the rotation.
