I HATE THE ANGELS
Usually I dont say much on this website or any website for that matter. Usually I just let people vent while I just read and enjoy, but this morning after reading about the game last night on the Angels blog - Halo's Heaven or something gay like that, I have to say something. Here is a blurb from the story........please read the bold print!!!!
- O'Sullivan got out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the first inning with a strikeout of Ranger DH Julio Borbon in his first major league plate appearance. The only blemish on an Artic cruise thru the Icy Popsicle Ranger bats were back-to-back solo homers off of two Rangers. There is probably some dude looking up the last time both teams hit back-to-backers in the same game, but who cares, really, the Angels won in front of 20,000 turd-blossom-loving Texans. Eat that for lunch with your Modern Urban Country Hits station playing in the background.
Who and the hell do these guys think they are? I mean really, at least we have young promising talent, while you have an aging Bobby Abreau, Gary Matthews Jr., who wishes he was playing in Texas, we just didn't want to pay his overrated ass, and Vlad who cannot even play the outfield anymore or even run the bases. So enjoy this little stint while you guys have it because if not this year, than next year and ten years after that will be when the Rangers take over this division and you will be left going to Disneyland or where ever you people go.
And yeah we had 20,000 people their last night, but they werent as you put it "turn-blossom-loving Texans," It was more like, "baseball loving, hardworking, blonde hair blue eyed girl loving, Texan's." Or at least that was the game I was at last night. Also I am so sick of people sticking us with this whole country bumpkin thing, I mean we live in Dallas for crying out loud. We are one of the richest cities in America with lofts, condos, fancy hotels, not to mention we have the HOTTEST WOMEN IN THE WORLD and nobody can say a word about that not even California. We dont ride horses to work, not all of us were cowboy hats and whats with bagging on country music, sorry we are not listing to Disney's Radio station with Miley Cyrus or whatever you all pump through your stadium's speakers. At least it is real music not some bubble gum pop crap. So enjoy Mickey and Minney halo's fans.
I dont know this really made me mad this morning. I already HATE THE FREAKING ANGELS, but now I hate their fans as well. So its on for the rest of the season, no mercy, no holds bar on the Angels. And like you guys said when we swept your ass earlier this season, the division isnt won in May, well guess what geniouses it isnt won in JUNE either.

You know
You do realize that posting shit like this is playing right into Rev’s hands, right?
Rev’s a conceited ass who likes to talk trash. We went though that when we swept the Angels back in May. The key is not to give him the validation of getting upset and calling attention to the footlong dumps he takes on his keyboard with a footlong dump on your own keyboard.
I’d probably take this down, if I where you. The last thing LSB needs right now is a re-ignition of the Halos Heaven flamewars we had in May.

I like L A too but it really depends on what part of town. Hollywood can be a bit scary and really everything besides West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the WIlshire district I would rather pass on. You cannot beat the weather and it sure is nice having the beaches 15 minutes away.
I think I like it down in San Diego better, Blacks Beach is so beautiful. I just like the energy down there and the weather is even better than L A.

People this is our RIVAL!!!
There is no way I am taking this down, they need to know that we are not going to sit and take this or at least I am not. I am a true-blood Ranger fan, and like all Ranger fans should be doing is fighting for a team that they believe in. If someone would had said this about our beloved Cowboys everybody would have had a freaking heart attack, but since its the Rangers we are just suppose to be like, "okay youre right, your better than us and just back down. COME ON PEOPLE, these are the hated Angels, our biggest rival, the team that has stood in front of us for the last ten years. I myself am sick of it and I think that our team is good enough to complete with these clowns. I was at the game last night and will be the rest of the week to try and root our boys out of this. I suggest everybody else stop complaing about this team and the fact that we cant hit right now and get out to the ballpark.
Lets prove these guys wrong, lets have a big crowd tonight and be loud. Do you all remember the last time we played the Angels, we had the biggest crowds in years, and what happened WE SWEPT. Its amazing what a big crowd does for your confidence as a player, last night was embarrassing to say the least for that small of a crowd to be out there for such a big series.
Anyways I didnt mean to go on another rant, but this time it was aimed at Rangers fans. So stop your bitching about fixing this team, we are young and they are going to have their ups and downs, but I do something about being a young player. They feed off energy and emotion and with it being hot and humid and no one at the park, would you care either. I know I wouldnt, so lets have a little better showing tonight and I promise that the boys will respond.
LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!!

There is a ton of good music out this year, and coming out every year.
I just don’t understand how people can there is “nothing” good in any particular year. It’s silly.
by FuturePants on Jun 30, 2009 4:02 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
For my part...
I stopped paying attention to music in the late 90s because it became difficult for me to figure out new artists and musical tastes shifted so dramatically (or so it seemed to me, at least; I dunno if this is really true or not) from alternative.
Now, it’s difficult for me to want to wade through all the new artists to figure out what’s good and what isn’t. I like a handful of recent artists, but pretty much all of my music has been pre-sifted for 20 years or more. I really only check one music critic (Christgau) before I pick up a new artist, but even then it’s been an experience trying to figure out his personal biases (although he’s consistent, he certainly doesn’t have any sort of roadmap for those of us who weren’t born in the fifties).
Anyway, since you seem to follow contemporary music, I’ll ask: how do you do it? Do you read other reviews to pare down what you listen to, or do you just wade through everything within certain genres as it comes out?
by jwiscarson on Jun 30, 2009 5:43 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Mostly...
…I generally do not read reviews; I don’t find them very helpful to me. I sort of keep my ears open to see what other people are buzzing about (Twitter is very useful in this capacity), then I may check out those bands for myself. Sometimes I love the buzzy bands (Wavves, Andrew Bird), sometimes I don’t really get it (Animal Collective). I listen to a lot of music, when not at work and not watching baseball, though.

I can only stand Johnny Cash. And Johnny Cash isn’t country. He’s Johnny Cash.
I had an open mind during that Reckless Kelly show at the ball park a few weeks back, but I just can’t get into it.
I’ll stick to death metal/hardcore/hip hop/alternative, thanks.

hardly.
The info was all over the internet and far from a secret. It’s public information.
Especially when you have a TV reporter standing in front of the house stating “we’re live from behind Riverside Hospital on X street in front of the Gallo family home” and then panning over the street numbers and surrounding neighborhood.
With emotions running as high as they were (and still are, by the way), it just wasn’t a good idea.

It WOULD be a bad thing to do, putting the DUI scumbag’s innocent parents in harm’s way, by helping every die hard,“emotions running high” Angels fan to know EXACTLY where they live, BUT, since others were doing it, too, it’s no big whoop.

Rival
God Bless you Ranger Fans. To be a rival you have to win. You’ve been obscure this decade. The AL West has been had by a Californian team 8 of the last 9 years. And outside of 1996, 1998, and 1999 what exactly have the Rangers done?
Now, before I get bashed, I do want to remind everyone that the entire American League is proud of how the Rangers have turned it around. And although none of us like it at Halos Heaven, your team is certainly improving. Hamilton, Kinsler, and even Young are great players. But you haven’t won anything yet. And this season isn’t over yet.
Win a Division, then you can become our rivals.

Seriously though.
This bit is tired, no matter who uses it. It boils down to the fact that you are letting past accomplishments completely blind you to the present. The Angels lost 29 straight games to the Red Sox in the playoffs, congratulations. Those were some good times for you guys. However, this isn’t 2004; it’s not even 2008. If the best you have is a “But look at all we did back then!” type argument, it’s boring, worn out, and it makes me very tired.

And if you are only concerned about this YEAR. This year marks your franchise, then please let it be known that even with our injury ridden pitching staff, terrible bullpen, and a franchise player-playing through the pain we still have taken 1st Place from your Franchise. Okay, but
no one needs you and your bad grammar sticking up for them. Regional stereotypes work both ways on blogs and message boards. It’s not real life. Relax.
It’s one thing to encourage people to show up at the games and root loudly, and another to feed into some crazy-ass douche bag’s meth-induced rants with your own insecurities. I love your passion (hate your grammar and lack of formatting), but it’s misguided.

maybe he's implying that
the makers of lone star are so inept at beer-making that apart from their inability to make a fine beer from scratch, they can also take an existing fine beer, brewed by someone else, and totally ruin it through some unspecified means. it would be a level of incompetence so egregious as to not only humiliate them, but to disgrace anything associated with the state from which they got their name.

Well phrased
But having friends and relatives in California, i’d have to venture that when they hear “Lone Star” they automagically associate it with bad mortgages. As in, “Pete worked for Ameriquest until a couple of years ago. He was a loan star.”

I really like California. But when you say stuff like “As long as it takes Texans from Dallas to get to the beach, I could be surfing all morning and be in Vegas at the craps tables,” you suggest that California is some kind of hyper awesome, exclusive club; entry to Texans are somehow denied.
I live in Texas because I like it more than all of California. I choose to not live there, so prattling on about craps tables isn’t going to accomplish much.

You completely undercut your credibility with such halfassery, and, since you presume to speak for all of us, you aren’t doing Ranger fans any favors, either.
All this “our team owns your team” shit-talking has always seemed a little dumb to me anyway. It’s not like any of us hit the sac fly to give Mo Rivera the blown save in game 7. We’re just junkies obsessed with the greatest game in the history of ever.

Like I said earlier this type of tit for tat silliness is a lose lose.
Nothing good comes from it, and it’s certainly not representing most of us on here.
I’ve lived in both Dallas and L A…they both have their plusses and they both have their minuses.
It does us no favors to sit here all day and point out the perceived minuses, it only creates a really bad energy and it’s unnecessary.

I love this because the hatred makes the sport better. Our two teams are shunned by the baseball elite (ie.
