tonight's Borbon-less lineup
The GDT won't drop for another hour and the AM thread is >350 posts. Lets start another focusing on tonight's lineup vs LHP Joe Saunders. No Borbon. I am not surprised. Elvis and his .391 obp vs LHP is batting ninth. Sure would be nice if he batted first and Kinsler moved down to 3rd.
Ian Kinser, 2b (8-for-18, 3 HR vs. Saunders)
Michael Young, 3b (8-for-22)
Marlon Byrd, cf (2-for-14)
Andruw Jones, dh (1-for-5, HR)
Nelson Cruz, rf (3-for-15)
David Murphy, lf (0-for-0)
Jarrod Saltalamacchia, c (1-for-9)
Chris Davis, 1b (1-for-8)
Elvis Andrus, ss (1-for-2)

Well that is a kick in the nuts
Why bring him up if he isn’t going to play.

Because Wash can't disrespect the vets....
even if they suck.

probably because
the vets would mutiny, because most rooks that come up don’t bring anything to the party. The ones that do, like Andrus, stand out because of their rarity.

And what happened to Murph/Andrus sharing #2 spot until Hammy gets back?

Ugh
Sit Murphy and either play Borbon in LF or move Byrd to LF and play Borbon in CF (my preference)

hmm i dunno what i was thinking.. i thought i saw a "b" on bats when I looked at his splits
my mistake, though that just makes me even more fine with sitting him
the preceding post was a great success.

Joe Saunders has never won at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington in four starts with a 10.29 ERA. He allowed a season-high seven runs in 5 1/3 innings here May 15.

Borbon should be in CF...
with Byrd in LF. Murphy has no buisness in the lineup against a LH pitcher.
Of course now that I say that he will go 3-4 with the game winning RBI.

say this every game
Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan was on the same pitching staff with Danny Darwin during the 1986 through 1988 seasons. Both were described by Milo Hamilton as "tall, tough Texans." It was a source of debate amongst Astros players and fans over who would win in a fight, Ryan or Darwin. Though Astros pitcher Bob Knepper attempted to set up a fight between the two during spring training in 1988, manager Hal Lanier stopped it before it could commence. Many experts, including Astros shortstop Rafael Ramirez, felt that Darwin would win because he "looked like someone no man would want to mess with."

Murphy
My thoughts exactly, sure hes hitting well but he shouldnt bat against lefties.
Borbon may be a lefty hitter but would provide a defensive upgrade in the outfield.

As long as they win
I don’t give a shit whether Borbon plays or not.

hell yes!
great to see we finally got borbon out of the lineup and….big surprise, we put up a huge offensive night. great to see wash came to his senses and stuck someone who can hit in there.
