can you give us a feel for what he says about Kenny

"He's old school in that he give up his groin like that. It hurt me when he do that" -- Worsh on Chris Davis' stretch at first base to end the game vs. the Angels on 5/16

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound righty has good arm action and generates easy velocity. His 87-91 mph fastball runs in on right-handed batters, and he keeps it down. However, he hides the ball well, and the deception in his delivery makes it look faster. His 77-78 mph slurvy breaking pitch is solid, with depth and tilt, but it was his 78-79 mph changeup that surprised me. Supposedly just a fringe average pitch at best last season, it apparently has developed nicely. It has sink and fade and the potential to be a legitimate weapon against left-handed batters. He still needs to locate it better, but the action on it is there

and that he still needs to find consistency in his mechanics.

Go Rangers...don't suck...

Did he write in any detail about

his command problems this year as opposed to last year? He has been better his last 3-4 starts but still seems to be having a few problems.

Not really
It’s all about consistency for Gomez at this juncture in his development. He throws strikes, but his overall command is still lacking. He’ll rush his delivery, get out of rhythm and overthrow. He doesn’t always finish the delivery and needs to work on repeating it better, especially from the stretch.

I thought this was interesting, seeing as how it was mentioned in the most recent minors thread that Beav and the rest of the BAK guys aren't throwing their changeups too much right now:
“The changeup has really been one of my better pitches so far,” Beavan said. “Last year, I really didn’t use it much, but I think it’s starting to become a dominant pitch.”

Beavan has a good self-awareness

and confidence level. I think he’s a better bet to reach his ceiling right now than some of the sexier arms ranked higher.
