I'll take it...
although the Halos are starting to play better and it would be great to get 2 of 3 in Boston.

The good thing is,
that we can’t lose first upon completion of this road stand and then it’s right back home against the not so feared Blue Jays anymore.
Tonight's going to be beatdown for me
Rangers win, I’ll be happy but the Girl will be pissed. Red Sox win she’ll be happy but not me. Hell, she was unhappy the Rangers could only take one from the Yankees. I don’t see how this weekend turns out well for me.
Remember Red, hope is a good thing. Maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.

Yeah, loser has to put out.
Even though it means you score no matter what happens, when you phrase it that way, it sounds better.
My thoughts
Me: “Should I bet on the series or each game?”
Me again: “I had no idea how dumb I am.”
Remember Red, hope is a good thing. Maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.
Three words
Done and done.

Is she from boston?
If not give her a swift vaginal punch and kick her out of the house for good no matter who wins the series.

I can't wait for this series against the Red Sox to be over
I just want to start facing crappy teams again. Those games are more fun to watch and better for the standings.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

I don't care what the eff any of you say...
It’s still super cool to see us in first, going into the good part of June.
She say she are the manager.

All you need to know about the Padilla situation

Reported on by -—Sully……….IN DA HOUSE !!!!
And even if he doesn’t get claimed today that means we can trade him to ANYBODY and he doesn’t have a choice where ! Sucker !! Or we can release him and spend that $12 million on someone else (Ben Sheets and David Dallucci anyone? maybe even Tom Glavine since he’s now out on the street and could mentor Harrison and CJ “time bomb” Wilson).
If only Adam had reported it so concisely and accurately.
"Guillermo Moscoso despite his stunning game yesterday, is not a legit prospect. He is simply too old, too skinny, too weak, and lacks the fastball to make it at the professional level. ." - crops.mlblogs.com
lol
it’s gold
(man, I just thought of something else that makes me mad — if we could trade on draft day, which I think they said would be legal the next time they have labor disputes, we’d then have enough pitching that we could trade BMac and Feldman plus a prospect hitter like Whittleman, who will never play 3b here, for Strasberg! The Nats need so much they’d have to think hard about doing that……..)

Dude,
there is gold in every post. I say keep it coming.

Even more
How about this one? (emphasis mine)
“He shouldve gone back to Venezuela and watched on his Direct TV waiting to find out who his new team would be!!”
Or this one?
“I won’t miss you Padilla !! You were always entertaining but your teammates didn’t like you and I bet we go on a tear now that you’re gone.
And I just thought of another thing —-since we traded Dallucci to Philly for you, we could bring this thing full circle."

You know
every time you re-read a crops post, it gets a little better.
"He (Padilla) shouldve gone back to Venezuela and watched on his Direct TV waiting to find out who his new team would be!!. ." - crops.mlblogs.com
Yep
The comments over there are pretty good today, too- especially the one where Sully takes someone to task for a spelling error.

Honestly...
If I’m the Nats, with their piss-poor overall system then onceStrasberg is eligible for trade I’d look for a huge smattering of C/B prospects to replenish the farm for him from someone like Boston, Oakland, or Texas — a strong farm system with lots of depth.
Because:
A) Their farm system is pretty bad, and their future does not look very bright in the NL East.
B) Strasberg is expected to move quickly into a ML rotation, which wouldn’t do the Nats much good except as a ticket attraction.
C) TINSTAAP still applies — his arm could fall off like Prior’s before him, and Benson’s before him — and even if he gives you 2-3 good years before that happens, you still have no real system unless the drafts were amazing. And really, this is the Nats we’re talking about.
Replenishing their farm system through this move plus a selloff (Zimmerman) could make their farm turn around like ours did in 07/08, but it would gut them for the next few years.
But then again, are they really expected to do anything but lose in the next few years anyways?
Strasberg's going to want a ML contract
Which will hurt his trade value. 2 – you can’t trade picks. 3 – I’m almost positive there’s a minimum amount of time before you can trade a player (hence it’d be easy to get around trading draft picks thing). 4 – Nats fans (echo, echo) would be pissed.
Remember Red, hope is a good thing. Maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.
Understandable points
Firstly, I understand that picks can’t be traded and that he can’t be traded for the first 12 months after signing — which would make him eligible to be traded around mid-August next year.
Secondly, the ML-contract is only a deal-breaker if he’s not developing incredibly quickly. If he’s ready to slot into a rotation by March 2011, then I don’t imagine it dents his value very much, particularly if one of the other players taken in the trade is on the 40-man.
Finally, I’m not suggesting it will happen, just suggesting that it would probably be in the Nat’s long-term interests. Short-term, Strasberg will be the biggest selling point of the franchise; similar to Nolan Ryan in ’89 or ’90 for the Rangers where people went to the games specifically to see him pitch.
Although, this would be more like the David Clyde experiment to boost attendance as it’s an amazing prospect as opposed to a living legend.
There is no way that it would be worth it for them
No matter how many B/C prospects, you won’t be able to make up for the loss of a true A level prospeect. Its much better to build around Strasberg, ZImmerman, their other early 1st round pick from this year, and their likely number 1 overall pick in next year’s draft. That is enough talent to build around and those guys are going to be playing together by 2011.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Good News: I am a half mile from Fenway...
and not a drop of rain yet, although it did rain most of the way from New York. It’s cloudy but not threatening yet ….
Go Rangers!!
Rodney if I had known you were going to get a mohawk, start wearing gold chains, call everyone fool, and re-name yourself Mr. R I may not have been so generous with the work-out tips. I'd re-think all that big guy.
Damn you...
I’m still in Salt Lake.
’Til next week that is, when my ass will be in Arlington for the first time ever!

Well now seems like a good time
to pop back in here and say “hi.” I can’t really wish you guys luck now (and couldn’t you have done a bit more against the Yankees?) but I at least feel a little vindicated in my view that the Rangers had a strong team and should make a run at the west this year aftter hanging around here for the offseason and being told that the Ranger’s trade demands for a catcher were fine because they didn’t plan to compete this year so their pitching wasn’t an issue.

Has their pitching been an issue this year?
Slightly below average runs allowed per game. The offense is the thing that’s been holding this team back a bit.

Also
over the winter Dirk told me to stop by because you guys do a mean game thread. It’s less than 2 hrs to game time and you don’t have one?
Say what you want about Red Sox fans, but we get our game threads up.
