Neil Ramirez finally graces us with his presence
Neil Ramirez has finally decided to make an appearance this season as he has been reassigned from extended to Hickory. He might get the start tonight as the probable starter is currently TBD. In a correlative move, Glenn Swanson has been promoted to HighA. No word on who in the Blaze's stellar bullpen is getting the well-deserved promotion to AA.

I think jd and co forgot about him
No reason he should still be in Bakersfield.

for those that may not be aware
BA said that this is the guy with possibly the highest ceiling in the system as far as SP prospects.

He's the Engel Beltre of our young SP'ing stable.
Or, well… him and Font.
Off the chart ceiling, but with bust potential to match.

Chris Davis will be fine. Relax.

Still say Perez is since he matches his 2 plus plus pitches and being left handed
I think that statement was made before Perez unleashed the 96mph heater.

If that still holds
Holy crap! Right now I cannot imagine a ceiling higher than Perez’s unstoppable pwnage of the Sally and Font’s baseball porn fastball.

I'm most interested in seeing
if he starts the season with some wheels-off mechanical issues like Main and T-Murph (and Reed last year). Fingers crossed.

Poveda in AAA...
…just a spot-start, I guess. Hasn’t dominated AA despite the 3.10 ERA. Nothing wrong with keeping him in Frisco.

Kometani
I’ll miss that guy. Not much of a prospect, eh? Pure filler for our organization?

More than pure filler for a while
After converting to relief in ’07, he dominated AA and the AFL. Looked like a legit relief prospect (to the extent that such a thing exists). Killer splitter.
And in ‘08 it was gone in an instant. Couldn’t keep the ball in the yard.

Interesting, I wondered why his effectiveness had waned recently
Checked it out on B-R, and at 2.5, he’s got the highest HR/9 of anyone in the organization with more than one appearance. Next closest is Jared Hyatt’s 2.0.
