Baltimore is the new Rangers. Very young team waiting to break through, held back by unbelievably god-awful pitching.

See squeeze play in last nights game!

You have a guy up there that does not strike out that much and hits the ball to the opposite side of the field ALOT! With 1 out, you let Andrus hit, hoping that he does exactly what he did, which would have scored Byrd. Then you at least have Kinsler getting a chance if Andrus fails. that was terrible managing.

Displacement Theory

I don’t get all the negativity. That was a good road trip. We don’t need trades. We need to stick with the plan.

Soriano OUT, Kinsler IN. Carlos Lee OUT, Milton Bradley then Cruz IN. We have choices.

McCarthy OUT. Josh OUT, ??? One #3-#4 starter and Josh, who hasn’t exactly been JOSH so far in 2009.

Hunter, Boggs, Julio Borbon and Arias. If Davis flops, then Smoak in two months?

Tough Games

I was at the TCU UT game but I just watched the quicky on mlb.tv… Not a good night for my team…

I was the guy directly behind home plate with the purple shirt and the funky multi colored hat… I was in the same seat on Sat also.

I will say two things on this…

*The better team is going to Omaha, but that doesnt mean that TCU’s effort or season was worthless. That team is talented, has an amazing recruiting class coming in, and gained the kind of exposure tonight that helps a program sell its name to talented high schoolers. TCU’s baseball program is on the up and up.

*I have been a longhorn fan for 18 years, and a horned frog fan for about 4, and tonight I was reminded of why I HATE UT fans, especially those rich bastard home boys who think they own UT’s name. I was harrased all night, even though all I did was respectfully cheer loudly for TCU. I understand that not all UT fans are like this, but a large percent are. My family has good season tickets, so obviously there are exceptions to the rule. However, when UT fans complain to me that they are always harrased by Ohio State fans and Arkansas fans, and they talk about how they are so much more civilized and reasonable than them.. NO, you are not worse than those rich homers… You are sadly right in their league.

This is our year.

Really

You mean college fans were belligerent to another school…shocking

what the fuck do you honestly expect?

also, UT has over 50k students…i think the odds are going to slightly slant towards some of them being assholes, as a matter of fact ill attest to the fact that some of them are assholes

as for the game, luckily the UT bats showed up (kinda) and the pitching was just what it always is

in Omaha though, dont see it with this team personally, they dont have the clutch hitters it takes to win a title…limited power in the lineup as well. I hope they can make a run, and the pitching is awesome so maybe they can carry them but i doubt it.

Good luck to TCU next year

That's okay, PM

Texas Tech also took a big shit all over Oklahoma’s National Championship hopes in November 2007, courtesy of Lubbock, Texas (where Bigsteve says “the girls like to fuck”).

Last I checked, Mike Leach still coaches Texas Tech.

It’s throat, not throught and I thought you knew better, being a Frog grad and all that.

Not a frog grad, just a frog

And I heard TTech is possibly having their dry county restrictions lifted, in which case I would probably upgrade it from a F- to a D

This is our year.

That was as flat as I've seen this team all year.

That was frustrating as fuck to watch.

The 40 Trumps All!!!

Chris Davis will be fine. Relax.

Here's a question

we’re talking about guys with high OBPs and the distinct lack of it in the Rangers lineup.

Here’s a solution – Kila Ka’aihue.

His OBP skills are top notch, his power has been present in the past few years. He’s old for a prospect (he’s already 25) and he has no positional value (he’s a butcher at 1B), but man, that’s some sexy OB skills. Would you trade Davis, Max Ramirez and, say, Jack Arias for Gil Meche (2 years left on his contract, at around Padilla money) and the Kila Monster?

The Rangers get a starter that’s as good as it gets since Peavy is a pussy and Drayton McClane is dumb, and Roy Halladay will finish his career in Toronto. They also get an OB solution and a long term solution to the Davis/Smoak puzzle. The Royals get two players in their positions of need, who have some upside, and a player to anchor their truly atrocious defense. They also get out of having to pay Meche’s contract next year, a big thing given the economy and the millions they’re wasting on Jose Guillen.

So, who says no?

Oh

and plus, the Rangers get the distinct pleasure of having two hitting prospects nicknamed Kila Monster and Smoak Monster. The possibilities are endless.

We have to make that trade

for Josh Lewin.

His head will explode.

I was hoping that Mark Hamburger would pan out as a reliever

just so we’d have a “Hamburger-Salty” battery at some point to talk about.

Might be selling a bit low on Davis

But it sure sounds intriguing…

Meche

is real good, not his FIP (3.32) good, but still a sub-4 ERA pitcher, pitching in front of a butcher of a defense. Put him in front of the Rangers defense, and you have a borderline #1 guy.

I think that’s great value for Davis. Heck, I might even do TT instead of Mad Max in that deal.

Yeah, 10th best tRA+ in the AL right now

I guess I could go for that, considering how good Ka’aihue has been.

I like the idea, because the cost ain't much.

Ka’aihue is an enigma. Couple years ago he put up a Davis year, but in AA, albeit with more BB’s. Hell, it’s pretty much worth it for Meche if the FO is okay w/ the money.

With the caveat, I still believe in Ramirez being a crusher in this league.

is ka'aihue

long term really that much better than davis, honestly?

and also isnt he a total butcher a 1b? and like 26 already?

you are selling as low on davis as his value honestly could ever, ever, ever be. same with max, his value is at the lowest it has been in the last year+…even loften > ka’aihue

He's a little old, you're right.

But he’s Hawaiian, as am I, and that carries a lot of weight in baseball.

Just ask the Flying Hawaiian.
