The 6-9 "Max is Back" Minors Thread
OKC starts in 4 minutes, and they take on veteran lefty Shawn Estes and the Isotopes. Max Ramirez is back in the lineup as a DH. Go Max! It's also a "rest day" for Borbon, as he's in LF with Golson in CF today.
Mighty Joe Wieland goes for the Crawfish @ 6, they'll face the Kannapolis Intimidators (White Sox), a team with no prospects on its active roster. It's a veteran team, so I'll be charting Wieland tonight. Check LSB shortbus Crops on the Farm for all the latest impact analysis and hot sports opinions about the move.
At 9:30, the Blaze continue their home and home against the San Jose giants, as Blake Beavan takes the hill. The Giants still have a great offense.

Well, kinda
But I just dont like you. You think you know more than you do and its obvious that you compensate as a result. You like to push your misery on others. Being unexceptional bothers some. I’m fine with it. I realize I’m not much. I just enjoy talking about baseball and learning more. I learn something everyday on this site. Really impressive knowledge can be found here. You seem to want to be something you are not. To me, you seem like a geek (like most of us) that takes his personal frustrations out on a message board. If calling me a c*ntbag to make yourself feel better about your standing in life, go ahead. It doesnt change anything.

by groundingout on Jun 9, 2009 2:27 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Problem is
that players with low power rarely walks that much in the majors. Case in point, Jacoby Ellsbury. He was a guy who walked a decent amount in the minors, but after ML pitchers decided that he has 0 power, they stopped throwing anywhere but down the middle against him.
The power and the walks will come hand-in-hand with Borbon.

there are things for Blake to work on. He’s getting a lot of up and in swinging strikes, but those will get fewer and fewer as he moves up.
Until he gets a consistently good slider that can be a putaway pitch, he needs to work on his 2ndary stuff at the Bake.

His hands are almost as high as Julio Franco’s, but he still gets his bat into the hitting zone incredibly quickly.
