7/1 Borbon-less Pregame Thread
Since it seems as if the GDTs are not starting until just before game time, here is today's pregame thread.
The Rangers are going up against Jered Weaver. He has a 2.13 era in RBiA covering 5 GS. The Rangers have put up an anemic .225/.294/.317 slash line against him.
The Rangers counter with the hot hitting combo of Murphy and Byrd in the middle of thier lineup again tonight. Omar is making his weekly start at SS tonight. I guess Elvis is too tired from all that running last night.
The Borbon-less Rangers lineup.
2B Ian Kinsler
LF David Murphy
CF Marlon Byrd (5-for-12 against Weaver)
DH Hank Blalock (8-for-21, HR)
RF Nelson Cruz
1B Chris Davis
SS Omar Vizquel

It was one day where the GDT went up gametime, they have never been up the 90 minutes early you posted this.
Borbon was brought up apparently because of byrd and cruz’s struggles, with the 3 HR between them its not surprising that hes sitting again although now its certainly a messy situation.. he can’t be up here just sitting. Probably going back down when hammy comes up i guess.
the preceding post was a great success.
That's what EG surmised too.

I'm surprised
that so many are surprised that Borbon isn’t getting playing time.

Ugh.
I’d at least like to see the Adrian Borbon-bot get a start or two in CF before being sent down.
That’s looking less and less likely.
Oh well.
Wash has got trust his gut, I suppose.
At least Wash has stopped benching Cruz for no reason.

Cruz did his time already
Everyone knows young players must sit at least two years on Washington’s bench before becoming regulars. I thought everyone knew that.
Let's not get all LSJ kneejerky here...
He had four days off in June, and he pretty much sucked throughout the month. He’s prolly lucky he didn’t sit more.

Meh.
I think Cruz is our second best player and should be playing every single day that he’s good to go.
A day of rest if you think he’s getting worn down is fine, and to be fair that was at the center of Wash’s explaination for sitting Cruz, but there’ve been some rumblings that perhaps Cruz still has something left to prove and maybe he’s not an everyday player or whatever.
I can’t get behind that particular sentimony.
If we’re really sitting Cruz cause he’s getting worn down (mentally or physically), fine.
But if it’s cause we still have doubts about him as a player, then I have doubts about those who are expressing those doubts.

I agree with your sintiments there.
And Wash has spoken to that a few times, that Nellie was dragging and seemed tired.

I find it funny
that people really expected Borbon to be the everyday starting CF in Arlington on this callup.

I find it funny...
…that people use the word “prolly”.

Yes. Paragon of hilarity that is.

I just want to see the kid
roaming around in center for at least one game but I guess that likely won’t happen vs the angel’s i reckon, what with Wash’s gut-dar not giving the proper signals I guess…
This is why Wash shouldn't be managing a young team.

All I'm saying is he sure didn't follow through on the "Borbon isn't here to sit on the bench" bit.
