K-Law Chat on Feliz

John (Dallas): Does Feliz have a chance for three solid pitches? I heard that the curve looks much better and that the change should play with his fastball.
Keith Law: The change is above average already, and the curve is definitely improving although I'd still call it below average.

He can be a starter

That’s where he’s expected to be long-term.

Oh yeah.

KLaw is the king of snark. You’ve got to know that coming into a chat; otherwise, you’re likely to get your feelers hurt.

Wow.

Ryan D (Waco, TX)

Do you think a package starting with Taylor Teagarden, Neftali Feliz, Kasey Kiker/Blake Beavan, and Mitch Moreland could peak the Blue Jays’ interest in Roy Halladay or would Smoak/Holland have to be included?

That package is way too light. If I’m Toronto, I’m looking for something smaller but more impactful.

Yeah...

…I understand his point, though. With that package, you’ve got one legit top prospect — Feliz — two could-be’s — Moreland and Kiker/Beaven — and a solid defensive catcher who won’t hit much. If I’m the Jays, and I’m trading a legit top-three-in-the-league starter, I want a very dense package as opposed to a very big package.

Someone in that chat suggested the Dodgers trade Clayton Kershaw, Andrew Lambo and Ivan Dejesus Jr. for Halladay; that’s closer to what they’re going to want (a legit potential ace, a legit power hitting corner infielder and a good young projectable shortstop).

This is where i wish

the Rangers were in the minority of teams that could take on payroll. Yes, Halladay is cheap but that is still 15 mil more than is currently on payroll for next year. I think if you sub in Smoak for Moreland that deal would be done however I would not include more than one of Smoak, Perez, Feliz and Holland in any trade with Smoak being the most valuable.

They are using this as their Texiera trade.

Good

I’m glad someone else in the outer DFW area has said Feliz has got a worthwhile second pitch (changeup). Now the ‘Yeah but he’s only got ONE pitch’ crew can go suck it

What's the rumpus?
