Mid-season positional reviews
Our man Z is doing a series of mid-season positional reviews for the Rangers over at the DMN blog...
Yesterday afternoon he did starting pitchers, and if you go down to the bottom of the post, you can see the links to the other positions he's already covered...
Check it out...

WOW
I feel sorry for Z. Dealing with those dimwits over there has got to be a huge beating. I don’t think I could keep my composure like he does.
FIRE DAVE ANDERSON!
I'm starting to think you link Z's stuff just to show us what he has to deal with in the comments

I'm thinking
they must attend the Josey School of Douchery. They got some work to do but I think he’d be proud.

I really set someone off in that pitchers post
by saying that Dustin Nippert “really struggled” in his two starts. Which just proves, there is probably someone out there that you can piss of with anything you ever say.

Quote butcher.
Did you even watch the games he pitched or just read the boxscore the next day? I’m sure the latter.
Now this man is the “Tool Shed”.

Also
This may have been quantified elsewhere and I just haven’t seen it, but if there was anything noteworthy in any of those reviews, I thought it was that the rotation this year is on pace to pitch 102 more innings than last year.
What a coincidence..
I read just today that the bullpen is on pace to pitch 102 less innings. How weird is that??

The Great
Nolan Ryan, obviously.

There are some here
That would challenge that saying it was all Nolan.

102 more innings
And again the importance of the defense seems paramount here. It’s nice only having to get 3 outs an inning.

Did I honestly read this right?
As I previously posted on another blog, I hope the Rangers don’t sacrifice the future of the team for a Halliday type pitcher this year. I personally think it would take two pitchers and a middle of the order hitter to win the west this year for the Rangers. They could be Feliz, Perez, Moscoso, Holland, etc., and Smoak, or a rejuvenated Davis, or Hamilton to return to form. To trade the names I’ve seen bandied around would throw next year, or many years away. I’ve enjoyed the Rangers this year and look forward to what they are going to be. Let’s stay the course that was set i.e., contending this year and winning next year with a possible WS appearance. Just let me continue to enjoy the ride!!!!
Perez? Bring up an 18 year old in Single A to the Big Leagues? Gosh those guys on the DMN Blog are just a beating….

My God
I didn’t realize that Z wasn’t doing all the mid-season reviews, so when Fielding percentage and number of Errors were cited in the 1st baseman article as showing how Chris Davis was an absolute stud at 1B, I almost choked wondering if Z had gone crazy.
Turns out it was Durrett writing that one….
Argggh, please warn us about that, Brett :p.
