Harrison out for the season

Just saw this on the dallas morning news blog by anthony andro:

The Texas Rangers left-hander has been diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, and will miss the remainder of the season. Harrison is weighing his options regarding surgery, but will not not pitch again this year. If he has surgery, it could come as early as Monday. Harrison experienced some discomfort during a rehab outing Wednesday in Frisco. The left-hander is 4-5 with a 6.11 ERA.

Harrison was diagnosed by Dr. Greg Pearl. TOS is the same injury would Kenny Rogers had in 2001 and Hank Blalock in 2007.

Can't say I'm completely surprised and sucks for him, curious if he'll be starting next year in AAA or maybe even as our long man

Thankfully, it only affects left handed Rangers, apparently.

Depends if he shows the "consistency" that Wash wants.

What other alternative do we have?

Unless, we get a starting pitcher by trade, I’d rather have Holland in there than Nippert.

He should shoot for a <6.00 ERA too.

Sigh...

hope he can come back healthy next year.

I still think he can be a quality ML starter. We shall see.

Wait a second

You aren’t completely surprised Matt Harrison has Thoracic Outlet Syndrome?

Ranger pitcher out for significant time

how is that ever surprising.

Seems like we see a dozen different starters every year.

So does that mean

that everyone in Mike Soscia’s life will now proceed to whine to him about every little thing?

Also, why the fuck are you still here?
