Edwin Escobar again
You are obsessed with bodily wastes A turd being held under my nose, this team being a steaming pile, Jonny Donuts having a stinky diaper, the front office pissing themselves, the team crapping the bed…
I think you should seek counselling.

don't know much about EE
so I voted Tim Smith
by Salman on Jul 29, 2009 7:20 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Indeed.
Doesn’t look like the EE train is gonna find a station before this thing ends, though.
I still can’t believe he’s below Neil Fucking Ramirez.
Everytime I think about that I wanna light three kittens on fire.

How far down are we going?
Did we end up deciding in the last fanpost?

quite the run on RHPs lately
Depending on how this vote goes, we may only get 5 positional players in the top 25. Wow.

The great Fabio
He will be in Frisco dominating in the BP on this date next year

Meh.
His Hickraw numbers have been good but not great.
I’d like to see a little more dominance out of him before I proclaim him a future bullpen ace, or anything even close to that really.

that we have about several more guys that would be Top 20 in about half the sytems out there. Ridiculous depth.

Has anyone considered...
..that maybe we should make this a top 30?
It may not be generating as much discussion as before, but it seems like there’s a few prospects out there that should get ranked. Plus, from a personal standpoint, this helps me learn about the prospects at the lower levels who one could reasonably expect to breakout over the next 6-12 months.
Maybe we could make it every two days instead of every day?

Gomez, again, for me
Here would be my next 5…
26. Escobar
27. Smith
28. Telis
29. Kirkman
30. Thompson
FWIW, I would rank Gomez, Escobar, and Smith all above Hurley and Strop right now. At least Gomez still has a mid-rotation starter ceiling, while Hurley’s injury concerns me quite a bit, and Strop I see more as a set-up guy than a closer.

Edwin Escobar again for me
I can’t get over what he’s doing as a 17 year old in the AZL.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

If he was 18, would you be way less impressed?
by tyd3311 on Jul 29, 2009 10:26 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
A tid bit, yes
He turned 17 this past April though so he won’t be 18 until the start of next season. I’m really hoping they push him like Perez and he’ll start in Hickory next season, but my guess is that they take it slower with him.

He said he has a 92 mph fastball with a quality curve.

I would think organizationally
they would hold him back as their is plenty of pitching depth moving thru the system. In other words, no need to clog up the system (unless of course he becomes totally unhittable).

the last one of CPP, and all those decent prospects, that could easily be in a lot of top15’s system looks pretty ok

If only because he could conceivably be in the 2010-2011 OF mix, and doesn’t have a mention to this point.

Thought he had too many AB’s last year to be a “prospect” now.

Tommy Mendonca...
I went Tommy Mendonca (see college stats) here. Although I think that between (some of the many) youngsters such as Tomas Telis, Edwin Escobar, Richard Alvarez, Jurickson Profar, and Luis Sardinas there is going to be at least one who turns out to be better, none of them, as of now, in my opinion, beats Mendonca head-to-head.
Scott Baio. Ric Ocasek. Rick Fox. Brian Austin Green. My heroes have always been mediocre.
Greg Golson doesn't do extra base hits.
