Moreland
My early faith in someone has proven right for once, I touted him last summer. Bleier is that guy for me this year, and like Moreland, I think he can be a good trade chip or nice contributor at the big league level, maybe a good 4th starter.

And I drool
when I look at the vastness between Smoak’s avg. and his OBP.

Meh.
The 40 Trumps All!!!
Everyone needs to drive a vehicle, even the very tall. This was the largest auto I could afford. Should I therefore be made the subject of fun?

Who are you talking about
anyway, with that meh? Bleier I understand, he’s pretty meh, but I’m rooting for him anyway. Moreland is not so meh. When are the prospect rankings happening?

I don't have unrealistic
expectations for Moreland. I don’t expect him to be an all-star, just a nice role player with an outside chance of being a league average 1B or DH for a while, sort of a Jaha, Stairs, maybe Overbay guy if he’s lucky. But in May of 2008 there were plenty here who thought he was Ian Gac.

That's fine.
We all have our guys.
I’ve obviously been impressed with Moreland this season and last, but I’m still not too high on him. He’s an advanced college hitter with what is often described as a “long” swing. He should have killed A- and A+ pitching. I was pleased to see him do well in A ball, but with guys like Moreland I don’t really start getting excited at all until they start to hit AA.
What he’s doing now in Frisco is impressive, but let’s not get carried away. He’s nearly 24, he has almost no defensive value, and he’s got an .857 OPS in AA. I’m intrigued by his modest power/patience combo, but I’m hesitant to get excited about him yet.
I was actually thinking about Overbay as his ceiling so I’m glad you brought up that comp.
He’s a good, solid prospect right now who’s moved (imo) from a C guy at the beginning of the year to a firm C+/with potential to move up another slot or two by the end of the year. A few more months of raking in AA will easily move him into the B- range, and maybe even into the B range depending on how the reports look regarding his ability to make adjustments and handle more advanced breaking pitches.

Agree with all your points above
and as I commented over at the BBTiA thread, Moreland hasn’t walked as much at AA so far and I’m watching for him to make adjustments and start doing that again. C+ sounds good for him right now.

I blame Jamey
for running off Fin. He hasn’t posted in like 2 weeks.

He's just avoiding LSB so he doesn't have to crush Jamey's reputation with his wit and intellegence.
The Fin is sometimes charitable when dealing with us lesser life forms, doncha know.

Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Jurickson Profar
Has too wacky a name; there’s no way he can succeed.

I'm betting he'll tell us the signing sucks because Profar wants to play SS's and the big league club doesn't need a SS
Or some nonsencial BS like that.

Main
If it’s not mono what could it be? Not to be a downer but could it be something much worse like lukiemia(sp)? That drains you of your energy also. I once had a friend that had that.

It's to the point
where me need to worry about Main the person as much as Main the pitcher. I certainly hope it’s nothing that serious.

Isn't it about time to drop Max and Main some?
Max is now up to 7 but has only managed to show off some plate discipline while pretty much still being unable to hit and Main is still at 5 despite no one having any idea what is wrong with him.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
