Washburn Traded
Guess we won't have to face Washburn on Sunday. Wonder if the M's will bring Ian Snell up to pitch that game?
Only a couple hours to go.

Yeah not much to get him but Seattle would have not traded
him to the Rangers for anything like those 2 guys, we would have had to give up the farm as Seattle would not want to trade him within the division

I thought the Tigers had no prospects left?
Luke French?

Regardless
of his last start against the Rangers, I think Luke French has a lot of potential. TORP potential.

Based on what?
J.P. can take Roy Halladay and shove him up his ass. I’ll take Derek Holland. - AJM

The fact that
this season his K/9 jumped up significantly in AAA and his ERA went down as a result, not that it was bad in the first place during prior seasons. This is my own theory, but I’m a big supporter of guys that can pitch in a wide variety of ways. The guys where it seems one season they walk very few and have success, whereas the next season, they walk a lot of people and have even more success. Same with strikeouts. Tommy Hunter is an example for us… his stats changed significantly this season…. that is a good thing, because his ERA wasn’t bad in the first place.

A pitcher that can
pitch like 3 different pitchers is an item to be desired.

..does he come with a remote control?
I somehow doubt Luke French was trying to be mediocre last year.
the preceding post was a great success.

His comp at Fangraphs was actually Washburn.
Flyball, some-strikeout pitcher that relys on an outfield defense and is HR-prone.
That’s not TORP, but maybe a #4 or #5.
That’s not a bad deal for Seattle. They traded Washburn + Washburn’s contract for Washburn-lite (without the contract) and an additional high-upside arm.
Detroit just got had.

That's the most ridiculous thing anyone has ever said in the history of the internet.
And that’s saying some shit.

TORP? Please.
1.39 whip in hir milb career, 88:60 K:BB in AA last year…
Hes ok and a decent piece to get, but the mariners fans acting like this was some amazing trade is insane. I know they wanted to get rid of him for anything and its an ok deal, but these arn’t special prospects.
the preceding post was a great success.

yeah
Everyone at LL seems to be way to happy about this trade

"Hey you know who would have gotten those 3 outs in the 9th?
Darren O’Day." - FirebatM3

speaking of odd comments
This is a dodgers fan commenting on lookout landing-
“Does this make the Mariners the favorite to win the AL West in 2010 or 2011?
vr, Xei”.
What?
the preceding post was a great success.

They have prospects
We’re all very happy that Casey Crosby wasn’t included in this deal. And Robles is a nice arm.

good, i think, if for no other reason than we dont have to face him on Sunday
he’s been good against us this year.
