45-35
5 in a row. Tied for first place in the division. 10 games over .500.
Not bad for a team that was being written off about a week ago.

9th inning of the All-Star game...
winner gets to come out of the bullpen mid-inning and smash somebody WITH THE STEEL CHAIR!!
FX2 is the final man?
Ron Washington...giving hope everywhere to the kids who eat lead paint chips of being a big league manager when they grow up since 2007.
The third inning of the game
On Tuesday of this week, there will be a rose ceremony, where four players from each league will get roses, and the player with the fewest votes will be sent home.
Then on Thursday, one more player from each league will be sent home, then one more player from each league on Saturday.
Then during the All Star Game, after the top of the third, they will bring the final four out, and announce the winner of the vote on live TV, with Bud Selig kissing each of the winners passionately, while the losers are each made to leave immediately for the airport in a limo, with a camera that will allow them to record their thoughts on being booted.

Well we did give a 5.5 game lead back in only 2-3 weeks.
So their expectations have been somewhat reasonable lately.
Where warranted, yes.
But that wasn’t being negative. Just pointing out that we did just crap the bed and blow a 5.5 game lead very quickly in June.
Season a long way from over though.
If Hamilton and the starters stay healthy, and Davis is gone by August, we have a chance.
What do you have against Davis
Outside of the fact he is K’ing at an alarming rate this year. Do you discount last year?

I believe the Rangers will finish this week in first place.
My only question regarding their ability to stay in first is will they make the tough moves needed to win a division. Such as send Davis down until he finds his swing again, Release veterans who add no value to a division title run, and trade for any missing elements even if it means giving up a mid-level prospect who has no long term starting possibility with the major league team.

Usually I am optimistic
but with a banged up rotation I fail to see them making hay on this road trip. Would gladly settle for near .500
I don't know about Hunter
He could be a #4 for us, but so could any number of guys. Holland; I’m with you on that one.
Kanye, you want to be the voice of this generation? Get in line! It goes me, Obamagirl, the Freecreditreport.com guys, then It's a tie between you-and Crocs.

5 Major League Pitches
Hunter throws a fastball, cutter, changeup, slider and curveball…all major league caliber. He was overshadowed by the Beaven/Main draft, but the kid can pitch.
He looked good
but it was his first ML win. To borrow a phrase, let’s put away the anointing oil for now.
ML caliber
Is not a strong enough endorsement. I like Hunter, I think he’ll have fairly lengthy ML career. But I don’t know that any of his pitches would grade out as above 50 on the scouting scale. That’s a slippery slope; If he has a bad day, a 50 becomes a 35, and big league hitters will tear that apart.
That being said, he’s still fairly young. Who knows? He’s certainly worth hanging on to.
Kanye, you want to be the voice of this generation? Get in line! It goes me, Obamagirl, the Freecreditreport.com guys, then It's a tie between you-and Crocs.
-Stephen Colbert
I like them both
also, but they aren’t finished taking their lumps yet. I think .500 ball on the road is good baseball.
I wouldn't say I feel that good about Hunter
But right now, I feel confident enough in the rest of this team to win a game he starts. The defense will help any pitcher we put in the rotation now and if they have decent stuff, they can be successful. The bullpen can pick up the slack and looks pretty good for the 7-9 innings now. And of course, the offense has been showing the ability to score more than 3 runs a game.

the point...for the retarded (clearly you)
Holland certainly has a ton of upside but he has been far from dominant, very far
even in what was a very good performance he still made a colossal mistake and managed to give up 4 runs
Hunter has looked just as good this year
i know holland is basically a love child of this board but give me a fucking break
Holland is great but...
He’s still a kid who thinks he can throw his fastball past major league hitters. He’s outstanding when he uses his secondary pitches and gets shelled when using nothing but his fastball. He’ll figure it out, they just need to keep throwing him out there.
Exactly
But people on here claiming he is one of the best pitchers in baseball right now are quite full of shit
Nobody here has ever claimed that.
Those of us who are realistic just want the kid to start and look for the positives while he takes his lumps.

to make sure my memoery wasn’t bad, but he has a .800 OPS in roughly 120 PA in ML. Not terrible for middle infield.

This has been
with Benoit sidelined for the year, and with Donnelly and Turnbow failing to pan out at all in the spring.
Hunter knows how to pitch.
His stuff can’t compare to Holland, but Hunter knows how to pitch at the big league level. He throws everything for strikes and doesn’t throw his fastball 15 straight times. Once Holland does the same he’ll be even better than Hunter.
